Yes we looked great yesterday and i know after any win alot of people love to say we are back and we are so great etc. But people keep in mind the teams we have beat have a combined total of 4 wins. Just keep that in mind. This team has a ways to go still. We have to take certain victories in perspective. This team has many many flaws that good teams have exploited and good teams will continue to exploit.

Keep in mind that our offense has looked like 2016 the past 3 games and we are starting to roll. I hope Risen escorts you out.

And we lost 2 of those 3 games so who cares? What does that mean. The record is what counts.

Never piss on a celebration, never know when you're going to get the next one. But you correctly point out that there are still areas of concern, specifically tackling and getting consistent interior pressure on QB. But Cowboys are still struggling with finishing. Finishing tackles, sacks, etc.

Good stuff, fellas.

Stoked for the win.

But when we’re 4-3, then I’ll start to get dem giddy heart murmurs.

In the mean time, let’s enjoy Risen straddle that pole, center stage. You wont believe what he’ll do for a $0.25!

Don't think anyone is saying this team is golden, but there's only two things separating Dallas from the division lead:

1) Sean Lee injury - Dallas is almost certainly at least 4-2 and perhaps 5-1 with fewer reps of Jaylon Smith in the Rams/Packers games.
2) Philly = 3-0 in games decided by 5 points or less, Cowboys are 0-2 in those same games. Historically, winning close games is not repeatable or predictable and reversion to the mean (.500) should be expected for both teams going forward.

Again, you can make the case that we wouldn't be SB contenders regardless due to linebacker/safety issues, but the margin for error in the NFL is comically small. This is still the same football team as last year with almost no bounces going their way thus far and some awful self-inflicted wounds (Switzer fumble, 2nd down pass when trying not to leave time for Rodgers). The next month will tell us a lot more.

Im so tired of the whar ifs. I have heard that for so many years. Its the NFL people get hurt. Your judged by your record. Sorry im not buying that.

Are we allowed to enjoy anything anymore?

You don't have to buy anything - that's perfectly fine. However, the facts show pretty clearly that record in close games is not repeatable YoY by even great teams (with the exception, somewhat, of Brady and Manning).

Also a big chunk of posters are saying the win is meaningless because it was against the 49ers. But lets look at the last six games SF has played this season:

Lose to the Seahawks by 3
Lose to the Rams by 2
Lose to the Cardinals by 3
Lose to the Colts by 3
Lose to the Commanders by 2
Lose to the Cowboys by THIRTY

Another good point. Goes to show you how deceiving that simple W-L record is in terms of predictability going forward.

Current state

Eagles - 5-1 --> Record in close games (5 points of less) = 3-0
Cowboys - 3-3 --> Record in close games = 0-2
49ers - 0-7 --> Record in close games = 0-5

Reversion to the mean (somewhere near .500 in close games) state

Eagles - 4-2 --> 2-1 in close games
Cowboys - 4-2 --> 1-2 in close games
49ers - 2-5 --> 2-3 in close games

To the pit of misery with you, sir. Dilly, dilly.

Where is that, you ask?

Stay tuned. Should the Cowboys lose again this season, if you are here, you will already be there...:grin:
