Update on Bubbles: we're waiting for her to have an ultrasound at noon today. It looks like kidney stones is the underlying problem and may have caused some kidney damage. The ultrasound will let us know how much damage she has. Will update when the results are in. THANKS SO MUCH for the prayers, and please keep them coming!!

Good news about Bubbles!!!

The results of the ultrasound are in: turns out, it was all because of ONE kidney stone. We can treat that with meds and diet. Doesn't seem that there is anything else wrong, and the stone hasn't done too much damage. *Big sigh of relief!!*

There's one more issue to resolve, and that is why she was losing proteins and whether or not she is starting to retain them again. Apparently that's just a matter of what treatment she'll receive going forward.

She's coming home tomorrow, but not sure what time.

That is wonderful to hear. I lost my dog last week, and when I read the title I instantly cringed that it was going to be similar for you. I am very happy to heard Bubbles will be okay. My grandparents always had Yorkies, funny little dogs. Full of personality.

Bubbles didn't come home today as planned. There's been a setback and it's likely that her kidneys are failing after all. Her BUN numbers are too high and getting worse.

We appreciate any and all prayers...the next 24 hours are crucial.

I can say from experience. Kidney stones are a terrible pain to have. Trust me when I say you don't want them if you don't already have them.

No kidding. And here we go again....

Today's news is a little encouraging, but I'm trying to be cautious not to let myself get too optimistic this time, because I crash too hard when there is a setback.

BUN increased a little since yesterday (but only a little...it needs to go DOWN). All other factors are back to normal. She's eating and peeing, so that's good. They're going to keep her and continue the aggressive IV fluid treatment...hoping its something that just needs to be flushed out.

Thanks to all; please keep praying!! I wish I could just focus on the draft tonight, but I honestly have a hard time caring about that right now.
