I have seen this twice now. CD is going in motion AND tucking his chain inside his jersey. He precedes to catch a TD on the play. LOL!

It is pretty funny, but would rather him be focusing on his route, rather than tucking in his chain.
Who cares when he has the results that he does? You can see why the team felt that they could get rid of Cooper.

They can call you for illegal procedure for tucking in a chain? Man, I bet Goodell's adding that one to the rules even as we speak. "Illegal procedure, No. 88, motioning with his arms prior to the snap."
No, while focusing on tucking in the chain, he is moving toward the LOS before the ball is snapped.

I will be surprised if he does that. A lot of people can walk and chew gum at the same time. A professional football player getting lined up right, like he's done thousands of times, while tucking in a necklace shouldn't be that big of a deal.

It has happened more than just twice. It cracks me up and I see zero reason to worry about it. I worry more that it actually worries someone enough to make a thread about it.

I said this in another thread.

Every time Cee Dee puts that chain in his jersey as he runs to his starting place, I know amazing things are about to happen.

It's like Popeye eating his spinach.

This is funny and all good until he gets tackled / pulled by the chain, the chain hurts / cuts his neck and then everybody will be "why did they let him play wearing jewelry?" I don't know what is hanging from that chain, if he has an edged object (i.e. cross) it could cause some damage to his neck if happens to be in the wrong angle at the wrong time, tucked or not.

Of course, we hoping none of that happens to him or anyone, but every time he runs a play with that thing on his neck there is a risk.

I'm not sure how many players play with a chain around their neck, but I would bet it's quite a few. Don't know if I've heard of any of them getting injured because of it. Of course, there's always a first time.

Was trying to look that up quickly, and found a site talking about Aqib Talib ripping Michael Crabtree's chain off his neck. But also found this that was interesting about something else some players are wearing on their necks:

yeah, I have seen those, besides their objective they also seem to be studied and designed not to hurt the player.
I agree, CD is not the only one playing wearing jewelry, i just find it worrisome that one day something might happen. why the risk of losing a (key) player for a couple of plays or game due to unnecessary injury?

Serious question- when was the last time you saw a player being tackled by their jewelry? I’ve literally watched hundreds and hundreds of football games in my lifetime. I cannot think of a single time it’s happened.

IMO- Here’s a much more serious injury risk for NFL players- playing 3 games in 12 days like the Cowboys will be doing when we line up this Thurs against the Titans. Now THAT is a risk I think is real.

Actually several times while going in motion he has looked like he was moving forward just before the snap.

I don't see how these players wear diamond stud earrings while playing as much as their helmets get moved around during contact.

I remember a player being tackled by their long hair (which is/was considered part of the uniform) and a couple of players looking for their Jewelry after a tackle ( T.O being one of them I believe) but not one tackle made straight from the hanging jewelry.
If we are going to go to by statistics there are many other items that players could wear that would put them at unnecessary risk but will be OK because statistically no one has suffered direct injuries before...that will change until your favorite player becomes the first one.

At the end it is the player's decision, or at least that's what it seems. Of course, we know the first player to get hurt by his own jewelry will file a claim to the FPA and sue NFL :D

I'm not seeing it. I see a player going to his spot, getting set, checking with the officials, etc. Making sure his chain is inside his collar at the last second before the snap is in no way causing him to move forward. I think you are just trying to support your argument.
