Arrg, I hate it when we blitz our safeties or CBs. A few weeks ago in Philly we blitzed Anthony Henry and he was nowhere near McNabb when McNabb threw an 80-yard TD to Hank Baskett (of all people).

Tonight...really this would've killed us if it would've worked - we blitz Roy off the edge, and again, he gets nowhere near Delhomme before he makes a throw to Keyshawn, which if Keyshawn doesn't drop is a TD and the Panthers go up 21-10.

I just don't understand why we continue to blitz members of our seconday like that, particularly the slower ones. It just seems like a recipe for disaster.

I thought this was the wrinkle many were clamoring for? and besides, Roy only blitzed twice this game, spent the rest of the time back in coverage

1st thing... against Philly, Ellis wiffed a sack on McNabb.

2nd thing... Key was tackled by Henry on the drop pass.

In m opinion we need to blitz, maybe more becuase we arent getting enough pass rush w. our plain pass rush scheme. How many sacks did we have tonight?

Every single time we've blitzed in the last 2 weeks with guys other than DWare or Ellis, we've gotten nearly zero pressure. I'd rather pressure either one or both of them and put everyone else in coverage.

We needed pressure so we blitzed to get it. Maybe you didnt notice Smith w. a huge un-chararacteristic drop on 3rd down, Key's drop, etc... We needed to get pressure so we blitzed. I dont blame the staff for blitzing d-backs if thats what it takes to get creative.

I don't understand your point. They didn't drop balls because of the blitz...infact they were open for those passes BECAUSE of the blitz.

I can't think of a single time it has worked all season.

Roy is a great blitzer, always has been

the problem is the coaches dont have him blitz from spots where he could cause the most problems the majority of the time...most of his blitzes this yr seem to be plays where he comes from 15-20+ yds in the backfield...

we're just not a good blitz design team...we dont create lanes to the QB the way most teams do

We don't blitz Roy nearly enough. That's what he's best at. At Oklahoma that's what he was best at and he made play after play.

Blitzing is part of the game. As for Williams play. Minus the INT and he was a non-factor. (ZERO tackles)

true, i wonder why he is blitzing from so far away, i know they are trying to disguise the fact that he is blitzing but it defeats the purpose because the qb still has time to make a play.

though he was disruptive on the first time he blitzed. he forced an incomplete pass.

Well, I for one, have never been in favor of blitzing safeties, and I have have pointed this out since the begining of the season on chat.

It forces coverage to be one on one, and made Watkins look bad. Even with Davis out there, I don't like it. Blitz LBs with variety. Let my secondary cover.

This ain't college, NFL WRs can beat one on one coverage faster. Rush with your front 7, cover with the rest. Rushing the secondary is just a sign of weakness in the NFL.
