[font=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]The Cardinals' home preseason schedule features the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos.

Arizona opens with Dallas (Aug. 11-15, specific date TBA).

The Cardinals hit the road for consecutive games in Kansas City - Arizona's Kurt Warner faces his old coach, Dick Vermeil, and the Chiefs - and Oakland, where Cardinals coach Dennis Green faces former Vikings receiver Randy Moss. advertisement

The final preseason game, at home vs. the Broncos, features the first return visit by former ASU and Cardinals quarterback Jake Plummer. That game is Sept. 1 or 2.

The schedule for the regular season, which begins Sept. 8-12, will be announced next month.

Due date

Defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch remains a free agent, but his employment status isn't foremost on his mind.

His wife, Lindsey, is expecting the couple's first child in the next few days.

"That gets kind of the priority," Vanden Bosch joked.

Cardinals officials have expressed interest in re-signing Vanden Bosch, a second-round pick in 2001, but he doesn't expect that to happen.

"It seems like they are pretty much loaded at end," he said. "More than money, I'm looking for a place where I have a chance to get on the field."

The Cardinals signed free-agent defensive end Chike Okeafor from Seattle and re-signed Peppi Zellner to be a backup. Vanden Bosch figures there might be better opportunities elsewhere.

Knee injuries caused Vanden Bosch to miss almost two full seasons in his four years with the Cardinals. He played in all 16 games last season with one start.

Waiting game

With a glaring need at cornerback, the Cardinals remain interested in re-signing Renaldo Hill, who started 10 games last season. An unrestricted free agent, Hill has received some interest from several other teams, said his agent, Jack Bechta.

"Three are seriously interested," he said, "and the Cardinals are interested, although not at the level we hoped they would be financially."

Hill, a seventh-round pick in 2001, played ahead of Duane Starks for most of last season. Starks was traded to New England.
