Points Per Drive-Thru Week 4, all 32 teams

The offense is cooking period. You have the most points per drive in the entire nfl and are asking for more lol
The passing game is.
Williams is pretty far down the list and can't seem to break one....a long of 22.

That has to improve when we face better teams. It will help us CONTROL the game...not just score points.

Some people just demand perfection. If they were running the team they'd cut Bryan Anger to save a roster spot because they think the team should score everytime they have the ball. This isn't Madden on rookie difficulty, folks.
Our run game is FAR from perfect...so not sure what you are saying.

My quick math puts the defense right around 2.9 points per drive allowed.

This means the Giants, Commanders, Ravens, and Texans combined to produce against our defense at a similar rate to the Buffalo Bills offense
Bold> That's correct using points allowed divided by all opponent drives (stats per stathead.com):

It is inherently unfair, but this further emphasizes the need for the offense to capitalize on as many drives ending in touchdowns as possible. Either that or this defense's improves significantly stopping opponent's third down conversion attempts down the stretch.

This offense is cooking but needs faster starts......

You know I'm sick and tired of hearing the they need to be perfect they need to do more no they don't The defense's special teams need to do more the offense is doing all they can and they're not perfect and they're never gonna always get off to a hot start but let's go back to the 14 point lead immediately that they gave the defense and the special teams in the Washington game and then what happened in that game They let Washington come storming back That's what bad defense looks like and by the way from now on I think the Cowboys do need to take the ball if they win the coin toss at the beginning of the game no deferring because that's how you get down seven points how are you supposed to get ahead when no matter what you do this defense will give it all back..

And yes I said that all angry and yelling this is insane stop picking apart the offense they've done it always like every way possible they have done it and the defense has done it for three straight years is not allowed this offense to ever take a damn break they need to score in every drive because if they make one mistake or have a slow start there are some pundits that all of a sudden say oh they're still not good enough no they are good enough they're one of the top offenses in the league I don't know one that's better but if you'd like to debate who's better let's go tell me who's better like absolutely no doubt clearly better then the Cowboys have been from snap one this year This is why you play four quarters and sometimes overtime your stats are what they are your points per game are what they are The Cowboys are doing all they can on offense.

That's the truth that's my rant I don't want to hear anything about how they can do better yes they made some mistakes most of them which were penalties and fumbles and other things in in the beginning of some of these games I think it was against the Ravens they just did everything they could to get behind That's what happens when you have big plays called back or plays that should have worked don't work they don't execute sure they're not perfect but they are one of the top in the league not top 5 they're 1 of the top two teams on offense right now and I'd like you to tell me who's better and then show me what their defense special teams and coaching look like..

Here's a fun fact The Jaguars allegedly are one of the top teams this year and they talk about Lawrence finally getting it no you know what he's getting the last 10 games the Jaguars defenses gave up 20 points or less can you imagine how good our team could be if our defense only gave up 20 points or less They'd probably be undefeated right now probably would have won 14 games last year that's how good our offense has been I don't want to hear about the areas of in which they had the punt or they went three and out a few times or they didn't score enough in the second half and now it's score early you guys can pick it apart there's still a top offense in this league and if they have better defense special team than coaching they would probably be the best team in the league right now that's right I just went there..

This is the first year this stat is being pushed around a lot. Looks good. Sounds good. It's a stat though and data mining and confirmation bias is prevalent these days.

Bottom line is this team is 2-2 and the offense has been a disappointment more than a few times this year.

We lead in points per drive and this fanbase still thinks it's not enough lmao and tons of the blame gets shifted to the offense. Also, we are at the bottom of the league in possessions. Mainly because the defense hardly ever gets the opposing offense off the field quickly and doesn't really force turnovers. Even if the defense forces a punt, it's after multiple 1st downs.

Every single offensive drive is magnified. If we don't score points, it's deemed a failure. Because our defense is so bad, that we feel the offense needs to be perfect to have a shot. Go back to the Giants game. We got 2 whole possessions in the 2nd half, scored a TD on both.

The defense has given up in the 30s in back to back games and people still say they are actually improving. This is a bottom feeder defense in almost any metric. We are 4-0 with even a below average defense. But we get 2-2 because we have one of the worst defenses.

well I am sick and tired of your novels
so there

Stats are not wins
We are being inundated with all these offensive stats for one reason:
Dak Fanboys wanting to prop him up

We all know the offense is the best group on the team, and rightly so, much is expected of them. However, it becomes completely unreasonable when the defense gets 3 stops, but we blame the loss on the offense not scoring 1 more time. The defense has shown some improvement, but they are still a big bag of terrible. Giving up 30 points to that bad Houston offense is inexcusable.

Until the defense starts holding teams to scores in the 20-24 range, the Cowboys have no chance at all. If you need to score 30 points every game to win, you will be fortunate to win 40-50% of your games, and you won’t win anything in the playoffs. Forget rankings, big plays, pass rush, coverage, red zone stops; those are small parts of the big picture. The only stat that matters with our offense is points allowed.

28 - 34 - 30 in 3 games. Very lucky to win one of those.
20 in a game we ran away with.

20-24 points is the sweet spot if you want this Cowboys team to win enough games to get into the playoffs and make some noise.

Seems like we need a 30 burger just to win. I sure do hope the D steps it up as we get healthy.

I think the point is that the offense is overrated. The defense is terrible too. The Special Teams is also terrible. Every week the coaching staff does something to hurt the team. The owner /GM is the worst of them all. It's all not great.

Time of possession, what do you see? Can we get the defense on the field more?
