I totally respect athletes who do this.

Troy Polamalu graduates from USC

Troy Polamalu graduated from the University of Southern California

"I'm officially a USC graduate!" he wrote on his website, troy43.com according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "The majority of top picks in the NFL get drafted before they complete their college education. I truly love football, and it's such an immense blessing and privilege as an athlete to be given the rare opportunity to use those talents at the highest professional level, but it's certainly not a replacement for an education."

"I decided to finish what I started and walked that stage today not only because it was very important to me personally," Polamalu said, "but because I want to emphasize the importance of education, and that nothing should supersede it."

Ty Warren just did the same at a&m, and gave up a $250,000.00 workout bonus to do it.

He probably figured given the current state of the NFL, it wouldn't be such a bad idea to beef up his resume. :D

UNC has a banner showing it's basketball All-Americans. I think you have to make it twice to be up there and, at least the last time I heard, you also had to get your degree.
It's a long-time tradition to go back and get that degree and early exit guys like Jordan, Stackhouse and many more have done it.

and if he is on my team, knowing what he has done for my organization, I give him the bonus anyway.....or at least donate the forfeited bonus to be used for scholarships to his university.

Would create good PR for the team especially at a time like this with the lockout where greed takes over.

Smart and great hair. What a catch!
