Feels like -5 outside here so what else do I have to do but mock? Also want to point out that I'm doing this 1 as realistic to how I see this draft going for the Cowboys. Not based on my personal feelings.

1st Round- Carson Wentz QB N Dakota St- There's a good chance the offensive coaching is already in love. Couldn't have asked for a better situation to get to coach a possible future QB for a week. Wentz is still a mystery to most but our coaching staff so if he's the pick I will feel pretty confident.

2nd Round- Vernon Butler DT La Tech- Finally! Cowboys fans swarm the streets! No, not a super bowl win, but Nick Hayden is replaced as starting 1 tech! Butler is a monster of a man at 6'4 325 and hardly looks to even have any bully fat. Just a solid mass of muscle. Capable of taking on double teams and holding his own. And leave him 1 on 1? Forget about it, he'll be in the backfield. Rod would have to work with him a little on pad level, but I really see a 1st round talent here.

3rd- Scooby Wright ILB Arizona- Scooby brings more instincts and toughness to the position than athleticism which is why a guy who was the best LB in college as a Sophomore is available in the 3rd. He's also coming off of a meniscus tear that caused him to miss most of the year but should be 100%. I've seen him compared to Chris Borland and I think that's pretty accurate(minus the whole retirement thing). He's a guy that brings his lunch pail to work and tackles everything in front of him. Not going to be doing a whole lot of 1 on 1 coverage but good enough in zone.

4th- Eric Murray CB Minnesota- Surprise, another guy from the North Senior Bowl team. This is 1 of those guys I know Rod has to love. Murray brings a toughness and physicality to the CB position. Not the biggest or fastest guy but doesn't really lack in any 1 category either. His 1 downfall with be his aggressiveness and being flagged a lot, but if he can control that he could be good starter.

Comp Round- Peyton Barber RB Auburn- Yes, unfortunately I do think we will wait too long for a RB again. Barber was a surprise entry as a redshirt Sophomore who has less than 250 carries in his college career. When given the opportunity due to injury he stepped as the lead back and rushed for over 1000 yards and 13 TD's. Big back at 5'11 225 and is a downhill slasher who hits holes with a head full of steam. He's a bit of a projection but I see a guy with a pretty high ceiling. Combine could help or hurt him a lot.

6th- Ron Thompson DE Syracuse- 6'3 255 compact athlete who was recruited as a TE. Had a breakout year as a JR with 7 sacks and 4 FF and made a poor decision to go pro early. Needs a lot more development but there are also a lot of tools to like with him. Potential for a late round steal.

7th- Derek Watt FB Wisconsin- Need new blood at the FB spot. Watt is more than a last name, big athletic guy who isn't afraid to hit anybody

It was -9 here this morning. (Fairfield County, Connecticut)

My apartment keeps sending me message how about it could reach -25 in the coming days. WT*! I don't see that on the weather sites.

Love it but we will still need upgrades at RB, WR, and a vet CB

Definitely agree on CB and I think 1 will most likely be signed.

Also agree on RB but hope they don't go too overboard. I'd be happy with a Blial Powell or Ronnie Hillman type

I would like an upgrade at WR too, but not sure there is 1 coming honestly. Dez, Twill, Beasley, Butler, Lucky. Idk maybe they bring a vet to compete with returns, but I don't see them bringing in anyone to bump off Twill or anything.
