If he can indeed find a starter at G somewhere in the last 4 rounds and pick a C and either a DE or an OLB that just need developing then this will be a good draft. I really like Claiborne but I don't like the price. However, after thinking about it quite a bit if we do indeed fill some of these other needs with solid picks then this is indeed a good move for us. We will have the best secondary that we have had in many years.

Carr is overrated. I'm not saying he sucks, he just isn't woth $10 mil/year. He may be strong in press situations, but his coverage downfield is not much more than average. Jenkins has better downfield coverage skills IMO, and Carr was put up on a pedestal because of a fairly weak CB free agency market. I honestly believe that Jenkins is the better overall corner when compared to Carr, and that drafting Claiborne makes Carr the 3rd best CB on the team.

I very well may be wrong, but I believe that we will end up letting Jenkins walk and that we will regret it.

I know what you are trying to say...

But when you say it like that..it makes it seem like we just up and scnatched anything walking.

Look(towards the other guy) Carr isn't a shut down CB....but he is way above average. He can cover, will make plays, and do the job. Something we don't have on the Roster.

He is the type of CB who will have days where he will take a WR out the game....then a game where he might allow 6 catches 60 yards...but with maybe 2-3 bat downs, and 1 pick.

You wont see 0-3 catches for 0-20 yards for 16 games straight....you just won't.

But he will get the job done, and then some. We haven't had a guy like that since the young Newman.....imagine that, but better ball skills

To be fair, they did do something. They signed Carr.

I love the fact that the secondary should be a strong point but I'm still concerned about the OL.

Clear moves that needed to be made on OL were addressed with prayers.

Clear moves that needed to be made in the secondary consumed the greatest of resources.

I understand the expectations for Carr. Nobody thinks he's Revis or anything like that, but Carr hasn't even stepped on the field for the Cowboys yet and his contract (paired with Scandrick's) will push Jenkins off the roster now that Claiborne is in the picture. I guess my problem with Carr is that I haven't seen him play for in Rob Ryan's D yet and we will have to give up a talented young CB (Jenkins) because of his inflated contract.
