He made a smart move. I've spent a considerable amount of time watching him come up in the league and, in short, he's nothing special. We can find good special teams fodder in the draft.

Bradie James can fill the role Polk would have played. (backing up Carp)

I agree, Bleu. Polk even reminds me of Bradie -- big, stiff, and unathletic.

Godfrey's a better player and is still available.

Let's get him!! I'd like to see Carp off the edge this year to see if he can do it, even if it's behind Ellis. GM as your 3rd MLB? You bet!

LOL, I always liked Myles for some reason, even though he was mainly a backup.

But I think he's a little old now. :D

it looks like OLB at some point of the draft is w/o question, sure would like to get my hands on either Anthony Spencer, Jarvis Moss, Lamar Woodley, Victor Abiamiri, Dan Bazuin, Tim Crowder, Brian Robison, Jay Moore, or CJ Ah You

It certainly doesn't make your team younger, and i'd like to have Patrick Willis at MLB, but one has to realistic with your draft and your roster. If we don't resign our own guy at backup MLB, we either have to sign another backup type vet(which GM fits) or we have to draft another backup type and live with the kid. GM doesn't cost us a pick and he hits the ground running in Wade's D. IMHO, for the next year or two, GM makes as much sense as anything. Then we can go ahead and draft a MLB day 2. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/ilb/zakdeossie.html

I wish we knew what Wade has planned for Carp.
