I was one of those folks, who thought if a suspension did happen, that Elliott should serve it at the beginning of the regular season. With Elliott, the Cowboys split the first six games with wins over the Giants, Cardinals and 49ers and lost to the Broncos, Rams and Packers. Without him, the team beat Washington, the Giants (again) and Raiders but were defeated by the Falcons, Eagles and Chargers in consecutive games during his actual suspension.

Hypothetical poll question. How do you think Dallas would have fared if events had occurred in reverse, specifically, Elliott had served his 6-game suspension immediately and returned to the lineup for the first Washington game in Week 8?

The third option should have read, "The team would have been better than 3-3 at season's start but would have struggled to match 3 wins over the last six games".

I am so longwinded. I exceeded the maximum number of characters.

I think they would have started 2-4.

OK, I get it. Probably the same, although the Arizona game would have been questionable.

You don't think we would beat the Giants, even though we blew them out a couple weeks ago without Zeke?

I think Dak and the team mentally needed Zeke for that game. With all the hype/drama from getting swept last year, I think they may have feared the Giants a bit minus Zeke.

I like the idea of the poll, although I admit being confused by the options. Our toughest stretch of games was in November, fwiw. Chiefs, Falcons, Eagles, Chargers. It would make sense to try to field your best team in November. A lot more to it than that of course.

3-3 without Zeke was about the best I thought they'd do but that was back when KC was in the picture. Never expected them to get blown out in 3 straight games though.
