Eh.. would he really be better than Cundiff at this point? The guy is older than dirt and I doubt he has much leg strength left.

I voted yes. In his last 4 years (Giants, KC, and one year with Minny) he's hit 83% of his field goals. Sure, he may not make the 50+ yarder, but few do (unless they are playing vs. Dallas :bang2: ). His kickoffs would be worse, but I can't imagine being much worse than Cundiff's.

In the end, I'd take a guy who is generally very good from 45+ in and more importantly, clutch.

Thing about Cundiff is when he is on he is about as good as any kicker. That 56 yarder which woulda been good from 60+ is proof of that. But when he is off he is almost as bad as Cortez.

If he can ever get it together he could be a very good kicker. I am not gonna give up on him this year. But next year if there is a better kicker then we gotta take him. If not then we give Billy next year. If no improvement then we go after a good kicker in the 07 draft.

Heck, I always supported Billy, but I'm almost to the point of voting yes. One thing we know, he'd never miss a kick due to nerves or lack of confidence.

Seems like the consensus is to cut the majority of the current roster and bring in a new batch! If RW has a bad week some of these knuckle heads will be calling for James Washington, Bill Bates, or some other 40 year old safety..... We ain't dead yet.

I don't think it's really a case of "getting rid of a guy for one bad week." Like I've stated, in Morten's last 4 years he's made 83% of this field goals. That was in New York, KC, and I year in Minny.

Cundiff has never made more than 83% in one season and he's prone to miss ones when tension is high.

I'm not really buying into Cundiff ever being better than Morten, who supposedly is in shape and kicking every day and supposedly is kicking it better than he has in a long time.
