The poll wasnt about what you would do. Or what the best thing to do would be.

It was about what our FO will do. And do you really think they will take the most rational way?
Wow, who are you, the reply to a question police?

I voted, and commented on my vote. What do you not understand about that?

Let me be specific for you to understand. .... I THINK THEY WILL TRADE DOWN .....

Something stupid
I figure there's about an 80-90% chance they do something that's, at least, against conventional wisdom, and there's about an 80-90% chance that that choice ends up looking stupid.
That 20-40% chance they do make a good pick is what has me interested at all in this draft.

What will the Cowboys do with the 12th pick in round one? There are more options than I could list so if you don’t think any of them are likely, choose none of the above.

I chose trade down, although I’m not convinced that’s what they do. I like a trade down if we can land somewhere between 15-20 and also pick up an extra 3rd or a 4th. That would give us more picks in the top half of the talent pool.
None of the above. They will take Hampton at 12.

This isn't true at all show me all these head scratchers over the last 10 years and I'm telling you you're not going to find many, maybe Mazi and Taco but many teams make few mistakes ..

So 14 years of 1st rounders 2 bad choice and 2 questionable choices?? add in the trade down for Parsons to pick up Osa..and Guyton maybe a question mark not but they traded down and got BEEBE the starting center as well.. those alone recently says they do a great job in the first round..

Guyton in 24 TBD bet hes starter at left or RT someday, we will see.. INC But hes attached to BEBEE so score!!
  • 2023: Mazi Smith - Pick 26 (DT - Michigan) yikes
  • 2022: Tyler Smith - Pick 24 (T - Tulsa) Great choice not many agreed but they were spot on!
  • 2021: Micah Parsons - Pick 12 (LB - Penn State) great choice and got OSa in the third for trade down
  • 2020: CeeDee Lamb - Pick 17 (WR - Oklahoma) awesome pick
  • 2019: No pick- Amari Cooper Trade worth it
  • 2018: Leighton Vander Esch - Pick 19 (LB - Boise State) wish his neck was better but still a good player.
  • 2017: Taco Charlton - Pick 28 (DE - Michigan) ouch
  • 2016: Ezekiel Elliott - Pick 4 (RB - Ohio State) awesome pick top 3 rookie rushing production ALL TIME
  • 2015: Byron Jones - Pick 27 (DB - UConn) Not bad was good but not great
  • 2014: Zack Martin - Pick 16 (T - Notre Dame) HOF great choice
  • 2013: Travis Frederick - Pick 31 (C - Wisconsin) Great choice
  • 2012: Morris Claiborne - Pick 6 (CB - LSU) Injury setbacks made this disappointing but not terrible.
  • 2011: Tyron Smith - Pick 9 (T - USC) Nailed it
  • 2010: Dez Bryant - Pick 24 (WR - Oklahoma State) Nailed it..

Conditional 'none of the above' based on whether these three players are available at pick #12 (in this order):
  • OT Armand Membou
  • Edge Mykel Williams
  • WR Tetairoa McMillan
Methinks Mad Genius will:
  1. want better pass protection for his $60 Million AAV investment and goes offensive lineman with Membou <go to #2 if Membou gone>
  2. want a future Micah Parsons' insurance plan and goes pass rusher with Williams <go to #3 if Williams gone>
  3. want another go to wide receiver with McMillan after shoring up skill position/running back via free agency with veterans Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders
I reserve the right to dismiss all of the above if, by some football idiocy miracle, Ashton Jeanty starts dropping down the board.

I'm pretty sure Jerry will trade with Denver for the wide receiver and then draft a running back at 20. That makes the most sense to me.
Knowing Jerry

Trade down with anyone but Pittsburgh, don't want them getting a potential franchise QB.

This smells 2020 all over.

WR i guess. Just because its the most stupid thing you could do in our situation.
What’s wrong with that smell? We ended up with a great player with our first pick in 2020. I would love to end up with another great WR giving us a solid one-two punch. It wouldn’t be a stupid move in our situation because once you get past CeeDee we have average at WR. Dak needs weapons. Our championship teams had a great number one receiver and a very solid WR 2. Irvin and Alvin Harper along with Emmitt made us tough to stop. Would love to end up with a WR with our first pick and a RB with our second pick or vice versa.

Of those option, I'd like Warren the most. But I don't think Tet or Warren will be there.

I also don't see us trading down. There likely won't be many willing partners until after the first is over.

Then we may trade down.
