Now that he's taking the carries on those third and short and goalline that avg is going to drop.
Yeah, some don't seem to realize that when they are looking at the starting RB's numbers. I think his final average will end up around 4.5 to 4.6 this year. I hope it's higher because that likely means he's broken off more long runs, and we know he has the ability to do that.

I think it's the former. 5.2 is a ridiculous number though. I'd still wager he finishes the season around 5.
5 is a tough number to hit consistently. Using a top-notch player like Derrick Henry, he did have back-to-back seasons with a 5-plus average, but those were his only two seasons with 5-plus, out of eight. Hopefully, no one here will think Pollard had a bad year if he ends up on the 4s.

Yep. The Jets were one of the top five running defenses in the N.F.L. last year. Yet the Cowboys dominated time of possession which is the hallmark of an effective running game.
Could you imagine trying to argue that exact same thing last year about Zeke. Exploded heads everywhere.

I understand that, but I think he's that good. That and his line/our passing threat all factor in of course.
