The beauty of Pollard playing more is not just the dynamic addition he adds to the offense, it's a way of implementing a load management program for Zeke.
The addition of the 17th game makes every team look at using a LM plan for their players which is especially crucial for teams with "Bell Cow" RB's.
There was talk of teams doing like the NBA where players may need games off to save them for playoffs but it's hard for the NFL to do that given the limited # of games. Having Pollard available to share that load with Zeke will pay hugely come the end of the year.
Given he Dumpster Fire that is the NFC East, the Cowboys, barring catastrophe, are likely to win the division, which means Playoffs.
Having a reduced role for Zeke will mean less wear and tear and a fresher version come playoff time.

I am fine with the load management as long as we are winning games. They do need make sure Zeke is fresh for the playoffs but don't get too cute and end up either missing the playoffs or just stumbling in and having to play on the road the whole playoffs.

Playing very well and doing it together. They have plenty of film on Elliot. And it don’t matter because Elliot was looking for contact Monday, but Pollard is fast and a different runner. Teams will start selling out to the run. We need our injured and suspended back on the field. Imagine if we get intact. Defense is playing well and Offense is playing solid and missing a few premium starters.

its a fact,

because if they fed zeke the last two games at his 4.5 YPC clip he would be 4th in the league in rushing but thats no longer their goal..if fans can stop being negatively judgmental of zekes lower game averages then we can all get along..zeke could still be a top starting rb for most teams and put up 1400yards and 10tds if hes the focal point..
the issue is us finally using a regular backup rotation where almost all teams do and some use 3 , they see that as knock on zekes production and it is not..

take the dang money out of it already..

this is not zekes fault he was paid and KM come in the very fist season post contract and changes the offense, then 2020 well we dont need to go back over that..zekes still zeke, hes just had his role changed, forced on him, and we as fans have to adjust our exception's without MONEY$$$$$ in the dang conversation..thats over with too late to cry over it and zeke is not to blame to get deal as bell cow blue chip 3 down running back and have that role changed..

so lets enjoy we will get to see 21 even longer wearing the star because hes being kept more fresh and can give us more games like the last 2..

Reposting this here, but everything I've read is the Cowboys are about going with the hot hand. Pollard had it Week 2. Zeke had it Week 3.

I think they are each other's load management.

Contact wanting RB's gets used up and worn down in today's NFL.

And quick fast little RB's get beat up and broken in today's NFL.

If they keep this up both guys will be able to play way past the NFL RB expiration date.

Honestly, this is how it should have been done starting 2 years ago. I think we would have been a much more lethal offense.

Certain areas on the field the Cowboys are limited with Zeke on the field and they are potentially leaving yards on the field.

Pollard is going to get every yard thats there and then some.

Looking at carries over the last 2 games Zeke 15 and 17, Pollard 13 and 11. Zeke will be see more overall snaps on offense just from the stand point of blocking. In terms of carries I think they will be fairly close

Zeke still has utility on this team. That said, managing his workload to keep him fresh makes sense if you’re planning on making a deep playoff run.

Zeke should not be the bell cow on this team anymore. I don’t want to see him touching the ball 350+ times.

The same can be said the other way around as well.

You ever hurt yourself like getting off the couch and be like “man Idk how anyone plays nfl running back ?”

Zeke isn’t even too adept at absorbing these hits. He kind of make them as violent and awkward as possible for himself lol

And I’m fine giving Zeke the ball in those Areas.

Zeke is the king of the little play and there is a time for that but there are areas on the field the Pollard has no business being out of the game for a back that caps us around 10-15 yards max.

This is a weird take.. Zeke is dishing out way more punishment than he is absorbing. At the end of a lot of these runs it's the defenders who are slow getting up not Zeke.. I get that those collisions all "count" and add up over time but quit acting like he's just getting beat up out there. He's not.

I dont like the way they used Zeke in the last game.

Pollard is clearly the better RB right now. He gives the offense a spark where Zeke seems to take the dynamic out of the offense. Still they feeded the ball to him.

Id like to see a Pollard - Zeke : 60 % - 40% distribution.

Uh you seems to talk about the Zeke he was 3 years ago.

Dont you see how often he is turning his back to defenders ?
On sweeps he often turns sidewards to the defenders who then hit him in the side or back.
Thru the middle he gets stood up by the first defender then turns around and tries to get yds by pushing with his legs. He gets hit a lot in the head and backarea then.
