RIP Francis

Good time to visit Rome, but I think the conclave won’t start for 20 days. Plus it could take them a few weeks to get 2/3rds for white smoke. By then Rome’s weather will be hot and muggy. The funeral on the other hand should be great weather.

It was an actual shock for me seeing the news this morning. He had been seriously ill with pneumonia but I had assumed he had rebounded well enough when he presided over Easter mass.

Basically, I saw him on the news yesterday. Alive. Then got word he passed the very next day. Less than a day's time, in fact.

Rest in peace, Pope 'Jorge Mario Bergoglio' Francis.
