I'm confused. I thought you just said that the mods bought this one for Cbz40.Yeagermeister;3075907 said:So you don't remember when the board bought one?

I do remember when the board bought one for the board as a whole and I did contribute to that purchase. I was just saying I wish I could have contributed to this purchase for Cbz40.
Actually, that's not what I said. I said, "I didn't even realize there was a paver." I meant that I didn't realize the mods were buying a paver for Cbz40.Yeagermeister;3075917 said:You said you didn't know what a paver is.
The board bought one for the board and one for Maj. Haggerty. The mods bought this one in memory of Cbz.

The staff needed to do something for some closure. We were all hurting pretty bad because we had carried the burden of his illness for several months and we believed and hoped he would get better and return.theogt;3075909 said:I'm confused. We decided to buy this paver and we kept it amongst ourselves, but it is from the entire forum to the Parkhill family, not just the staff. Whether people contributed a penny to this or not is irrelevant, you all contributed to the friendship we all had with Weldon and this is from all of you too.
We appreciate anyone who would have contributed to this if we had asked. We decided we had already asked enough recently and as I said, we needed some closure as a staff. Every contribution, whether it was to his guestbook, the threads here in his memory, or with a yellow ribbon in a signature in his honor are deeply appreciated.
More than you will ever know.

It's clear that the mods did a commendable thing and that they chose to do it to provide closure for themselves is understandable and touching. I know that for myself, I think of his contributions to the board and the incredibly dignified way he handled himself. Even after his passing, he provides and example to me and to give me pause before I put something down on this board. Just being able to say good morning to him and to the rest of the Zoners helps give some perspective on my day, and I'm grateful for that. I don't know if I'll ever make it to Cowboys Stadium to see the paver, but just knowing it's there is reassuring. Well done guys.
