The Beatles were a boy band?:laugh:That's one of the funniest things ive ever heard. Cant believe someone had the gall to compare McCartney/Lennon/Harrison/Star to such acts like the Monkees, Nstink and the Backstreet Bums. Everything they did from Rubber Souls onwards id put up against anyone.
They were the original and the best ever boy band.
They were marketed/targeted specifically at young women.
But they were also musical geniuses. --well at least Lennon/McCartney.

You can absolutely add '66-'70 Harrison to that group, J.

They matured from boyband to greatness with, and after, SGT. Peppers

I always thought they started to really change with Help where they had to sneak their newer style on the b-side. By the time they made Revolver they had all but moved on from the ska boogie they grew up on.

The "rock" era was only a few years old when the Beatles first picked up instruments.

Outside of a few older country-crossover and R & B-crossover folks... It was a young person's game.

So for the other poster to say the Beatles were a "boy band"... Well... Duh!

God Bless America.

I always thought it needed a rap verse in the middle of it.
