Portis injury question

I was reading a story on Portis' injury and they were speculating on how long he would be out.. some said 3-4 weeks and then they were even throwing it out that it could put his season in question...

Where does the media come up with this stuff?.. If Portis is out for the year, it's because he is giving up on the season.. actually if he is out more than 3 weeks than he is proably doing less than he can..

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this the same injury that TO just had? And the same injury that Emmitt had?.. If so, then two weeks is the standard that has been set for the ability to play with the injury.. granted, it won't be at 100%, but nobody is playing at 100% at this point of the year.

It will be interesting to see how this one progresses...

I wouldn't be surprised if Portis is out the entire year. He has surgery on the hand today. Even if he was healthy enough to come back and try and play, why risk it? our season is basically already over, why risk coming back for a pointless game? He is very dinged up right now. His calf, shoulder and hand are all bad. I just dont see the reason for him to rush back for no reason.
