Did anyone here what Portis had to say about Adam and the incident. For those of you that did not hear it Portis basically said BODY GUARD OR NOT WHEN YOU ARE CLOSE AND SPEND ALOT OF TIME WITH CERTAIN PEOPLE THINGS LIKE THIS HAPPEN, THERE WAS NO GUN PLAY, JUST A COUPLE OF "BROTHERS HORSEPLAYING"

I KNOW SKINS FANS HEARD IT, I WANT TO KNOW WHAT U OUT THERE THINK ESPECIALLY YOU SKINS FANS NOW THAT YOUR BELOVED PORTIS HAS WEIGHED IN.

Just wondering, have not seen a single Skins fan bring this up on here or Extreme Skins

Don't think anyone takes anything Portis says seriously anymore, didn't he compare dog fighting with crab fishing last year? :laugh1:

What does what Skins fans think about it have to do with anything?

Well Brave heart i just wanted to know what they thought. You see I guess living in the DC area i know first hand that SKINS FANS GO WITH WHAT EVER THEIR GOES SAY, PORTIS AND MOSS ARE LIKE GODS TO THEM. THEY HANG ON THEIR NUTS LIKE I DO JAY Z.

I was just curious what they thought about what he had to say, It seem that in the interview Portis was pro Adam and basically saying its not a big deal. Its just me playing devils advocate to see if they would stick by what their own person said, a person that has partied with Adam and is in the league had to say.

Just wanted to see the bounds of their hypocracy (sp)

I am a Skins fan, but maybe I'm not since I don't "GO WITH WHAT EVER THEIR GOES SAY, PORTIS AND MOSS ARE LIKE GODS TO THEM" I don't know what that means actually. But if you want my thoughts...Portis just says his mind. I don't care if he thinks Adam's suspension is wrong or right, he doesn't have the final say, that is Mr. Godell's job. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. He makes some questionable comments (See M. Vick) all the time. All I care about is him scoring TD's and blocking blitzers....What he thinks about Adam, or the election, or whether Mrs. Butterworth's has the best syrup just doesn't matter to me

There's a reason he's on ignore...And you're dead on -- I really couldn't care less what he says -- so long as he keeps playing a potential MVP candidate (yep that's right -- I said it! :)) and stays out of trouble -- he can speak in Billy Madison-esque jibberish and I couldn't care less.

Portis is a proven moron, and if you find is dressing up bit funny you are more then likely getting colouring book for Christmas, but he can ball, so just put him down as one of those "sould be seen and not heard" players. He does have great numbers so far, he's in with a shout for it.

There was a play during te Eagles game (I think) where Clinto turns the corner and only has the DB to beat, and like Barber last week I'm thinking Portis is going to cut inside or stiff arm him, and take it to the house, instead he just trots out of bounds and takes the 15 or whatever yards. Any Skins fans know the play I talking about? Surprised the hell out of me.

Another 175 yards and a TD today. Whatever he's doing, its working. The guy is goofy, and playful. He's a jokster. Thats not a problem. He just has a sense of humor. Dont know why he was sticking up for that scumbag pacman, but who knows. Portis is portis.

I have no idea what you base that off of. Clearly you've never seen any of his interviews/press conferences. What do you call dressing up those over the top costumes? To lighten the mood and draw some laughs. I'd say thats what a sense of humor is.

Those are what I base my opinion on, those horrible, unfunny, dragged out, cringe inducing shames were embarrassing. He sounds like a mongoloid. But I've already posted this in this thread.

Nah it's really not, I don't have any problems with Cooley or Campbell, Clinto just grates because of his dumbs costumes.

Someone on 1st and 10 said it perfectly about portis last week. They brought up the same statement, and asked Skip and the other person (never heard of him and can't remember his name) what they thought of the comment. The guy basically said that maybe if his "brothers" (speaking of the black players in the league) stopped getting into trouble and messing up, Portis wouldn't feel the need to stick up for the guy.

Portis might have stood up for Pacman, but when was the last time you saw Portis' name in the news for getting in trouble with the law? Im perfectly happy with his name being on ESPN for being the leading rusher in the league, and not being in the news for being in jail.

Portis is right and wrong with what he said. I mean do we even know all the details/facts?

What happened is not a big deal with Pacman essentially but the fact it was PACMAN and not Joe Blow down the street that got involved is the problem.

Portis is right in its not the end of the world but he is wrong because PACMAN should have used better judgement considering he's on extremely thin ice. Portis needs/needed to take that into acount.

Nobody said Portis was Copernicus, Magellan or Einstein with his logic.

But the dude can run the football and stays out of trouble so I can live with his comments even though I may not agree.

As for GAMBIT....if we Commanders fans think Moss and Portis are GODS then what do Cowboys fans think of Romo and Owens?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Come on.

Portis made his comments before the fact that Pacman use alcohol in direct violation of the agreement he had sign with the Commissioner. Portis should probably have said nothing, nothing he says would help the matter, If he scolded Adam he would be seen as kicking a man while he is down. if he minmizes Pacmans actions (the same thing Jerry jones did) he risk answering those among us that believe Pacman is loose cannon.

On other manners I send a get well soon to the injured Cowboys. When we play in Washington we want the Cowboys best and no excuses.

Lol where was the outrage when you guys saw Jerry Jones sticking up for Pacman and saying he wouldn't be suspended because it was no big deal? It only made JJ look even worse when the Commish suspended him for a month.

As for this matter, I don't look at it as a big deal. Portis as we all know says some things he shouldn't, and besides all he basically said was that if you have a guy around you 24/7 you're bound to get angry/upset with him sooner or later. The only reason it's a big deal is because this is Pacman that he's talking about, if it was some decent humble player he was defending nobody would think twice about it.

And I really don't think too much about Portis' Vick comments either. The jist of what he said was that he can understand Vick doing it because dogfighting is very common in the South, and Portis being raised in the South probably would know that more than somebody who was not raised in that culture. It isn't something he should be saying because it's a very common sentiment that dogfighting is horribly cruel and shouldn't even be happening (and believe me, I totally agree with that), but you have to look at where Portis is coming from.
