QB-Good, like the #2 add to develop
RB-very worried. Not sure we have a every down back. Heard zero from Blue thus far.
TE-pleasantly surprised with Spann-Ford emergence.
WR-Good, would love to see either Tolbert or Mingo take that next step.
OL-Good. Hearing good things about our tackles, but let's see how they perform when the pads go on.
DE-Good, probably our deepest position. Hearing good things about EZ, Sam.
DT-extremely worried. 3T should be fine, but just unproven talent at the 1T.
LB-very worried. Like Sanborn, but he has athletic limitations. Murray is by far the biggest concern cause his lack of instincts, I am expecting another Jaylon Smith. Marist I like the most, but still green.
CB-very worried. Booth/Muku have been playing outside corners with the 1's and getting roasted. Cannot expect a rookie coming off of an acl to start day 1.
S-Good. Watch for the Syracuse undrafted kid to make the team. Hoping for a bigger role for Thomas.
Coaching-Good. Confident schemes on both sided with be improved

Training Camp will determine if the front office has to go out and bring in a few veteran reinforcements.

It's surprising, well maybe not, at the sink or swim attitude at 1 tech with Mazi.

Sure, they drafted some big dudes, but it was round 7, and Rogers is back for now.
But if Mazi fails to show improvement, we'll be dumpster diving against for a Jordan Phillips level trade or Linval Joseph signing in August. Below average DT's.
3 Tech they at least got Thomas behind Osa, who at this point is at least is a solid rotation player.

I'm not too worried at RB, as I think it's a better RBBC than last year. But no RB there that IMO can carry the load.

Hoepfully the injury bug avoids the corner position this year. Waiting till TC/PS to see how Elam plays here.

I have concerns about running back as well, but I felt that the biggest issue last year was the run blocking and commitment to it more than anything.

Changes in that area are the biggest reason for my optimism.

I'm mainly worried about the run game. If Blue doesn't pan out, I'm not sure how well we'll do. I think our season depends on it. If Dak is constantly in 3rd and 8 and 3rd and 9+, we'll be lucky to make the playoffs.

Izzy been getting burned? Heard he and Elam looks good at corner.

I think corner is the one spot every seems to be concerned with but I think it’s much better then being credit for.
Elam seems to be playing better than us fans expected. At least so far.

And I keep thinking that they have a handshake agreement with Stephon Gilmore to come in during training camp to give them some snaps early in the season.

I’ll be honest….until proven otherwise I think we are gonna be pass first once again. I think we are gonna find ourselves down and they are gonna fall into that pass happy crap again.

Yeah Gilmore is out there and it’s hard to see they won’t look at a cheap vet at some point.

I’d call that very accurate, except you needed to break down the OL to interior and exterior IMO.

One is likely very solid, the other has serious questions.

Team is still very bad right up the middle. DT, LB, S
2023 draft makes you smile doesn't it?
Mazi
Grandpa Luke

Oshow
Fehoko
Richards
Scott
Deuce
Brooks

If that happens, we're an 8-9 win team. We're not the Bills, we're not the Chiefs. If that happens we're more like the Dolphins.

It takes quite the commitment to genuinely stick with the run, and you also can’t routinely be behind in games and make that work.

Think about that dynamic once we are into the early season….they are going to be giving the ball to rookie RB and guys like Williams and/or Sanders while guys like Lamb and Pickens get limited touches?

This “run the ball” thing is likely to go by the wayside quickly, and people like you understand that. Lotsa lip service in Dallas lately per usual.

I mean it’s too early for me to say. It could end up being like the Bengals or it could end up being like our 12 win seasons. Too early to tell with everyone being 0-0.

I’m always on the fence with it because I think it’s stupid to stick to the run while it’s not productive and you keep getting scored on. And some point you have to abandon it if it isn’t working or good.

I'm feeling pretty good about RB. Hearing positive things about Sanders and like what I saw on film from Blue and Mafah. The OL is shaping up to be a group of mailers. Should go a long way towards opening up lanes that weren't there last season.

Otherwise I agree. DT is my biggest concern. They did bring in some new bodies, but I'm not convinced they did enough to elevate a really bad run defense. Same goes for LB. CB could turn out to be a strength, but so many guys with injuries and uncertainty of their status to open the season could make for an early bumpy road.

Right.

In order to pull off what they claim to want to, a few things need to be the case…you’ve got to be very good at executing it, have a really good defense that doesn’t allow you to fall too far behind in games, and probably not have too many resources tied up in the passing game.

Is this team built that way? I’d say it isn’t. There’s questions with the OL and backs, the defense is to where it’s more likely the opposition will be able to run on them and control the clock, and they’ve got a 60m QB with two ones at WR.

They’ll be a passing team before long and if they don’t already realize that they are fooling themselves, but it’s not surprising.

There’s always plenty of talk in Dallas about pulling off what’s ideal, but roster building doesn’t match.

Why? There’s no actual plan. The FO isn’t talented enough to put together a plan with the right players that coincide with the right scheme and staff. They just collect players and coaches and attempt to talk things into existence.
