How about we talk about these three guys that came to play. Carter was flying all over the place making some nice plays. Spencer was playing the run very well and although I don't recall seing him get a lot of pressure he was playing tough physical defense.

Witten what can you say. I questioned Witten before, i've doubted him for years now. I just ate crow yesterday. I'll take it down with some hot sauce, the guy straight balled out there.

Exactly. I hate the loss as most around here but I'll be damned if I am going to ruin my week over it. Sucks....move on. I still love this team. I will be here Sunday.

Great to see Witten have such an awesome game. The guy is just flat out a special player. We are so fortunate to have him and Ware. I was just thinking of this yesterday. We sure do have some talent on defense. We got some on offense too but dang. Got some boneheads as well. More than just one.

Claiborne - I am THRILLED to see this rookie playing so well so early. Go get yours Mo.

Spencer - He does make this D a lot better when he's playing. Still isn't worth the franchise pay he's getting but that will get cleared up at some point, I would imagine.

Bruce Carter - He is going to be something special. You can just see him getting better and better each and every play. He will be a huge favorite on this team I think for years to come. Dallas has some of the beast backers in the league. You look around and tell me who has a better LB corps than the Dallas Cowboys?? I KNOW  !!!

Damn You Miles Austin. I saw you again yesterday PLAYAH! Where you been???

Great thread!

Carter did some good things out there. People like to whine about Dez, but as dumb as we say he is, people are still afraid of him enough to continuously double team the guy. He may be dumb, but he's dangerous. And his and Austin's double teams allows Witten to be covered 1 on 1 and that's not going to fly. You can't cover dude 1 on 1.

That's a good thing about Dez. Teams HAVE to compensate for him every play, leaving him or Miles 1 on 1 is a death trap.

How about Jay Ratliff being a leader and ripping the offense a new one - that to me sparked the "comeback" and I'll never forget it.

And what about Miles? He's been very good this season.
He played good, but I was a bit disappointed. You can make a million excuses, but he has GOT to make a better play on that INT in the first quarter. Has to. If youre in man-to-man coverage that far down the field, no way should a DB pick it off.

And I don't think it was necessarily a drop, the ball was high, but I thought he could have made a better play on that second to last play. Maybe he would have been tackled, idk, but that's a catch I'd like my number 1 to make.

The good thing about Miles this year is that he looks healthy and explosive. I hate that he's always nicked, but man, he's a dangerous guy when he's healthy.

This is exactly why this team can NOT give up on Dez. Not yet. He doesn't grasp the playbook and still commands a lot of attention.

I don't think the 3 year rule applies to him as much as other guys. He didn't play a senior year in college and was drafted young. He's 23. Someone like that, with a ceiling that high, gets a bit longer leash.

Notice we never seem to be talking about DWare?

He'll get his seasonal sacks, but he never seems to do much in big games on at big moments. Is he having a normal or subpar season? Can he take over and dominate, or is he easily controlled by help from a RB? Does he ever actually get any hits or knock downs? Or is the speed move and ball swatting his only signature?

Maybe he's having a good year and I'm just missing it.

talk to me about Lane Johnson, if Dallas could get him in the 5th would it be a good pick?

I hate when Dallas loses...but, it doesn't bother me as much as it used to. I guess I am numb to it. I am a Cowboys fan since birth. Win or lose, I will be a Cowboys fan. if you think about it, unless the Cowboys make the playoffs, we really only get 48 hours (16 games times 3 hours) of football from them, not counting preseason. I just want to enjoy those "2 days" of football, savor it, cause I long for it for the remaining 363 days, so to speak.

HUH???? The guys has 7.5 sacks (currently third in the NFL) and is stout against the run and can drop back in coverage. He is on track to be a future Hall of Famer....

I still don't understand Witten's day, tbh. I was straight up embarassed for the Giants D. All Witten did was run 5-8 yard out routes all day, and they never caught on or even broke up a pass. Literally almost every pass he caught was "run 5 yards and break to the outside".

He's also been game all year with a limpy hamstring.

Running proper option routes + primary receiver.

Watch what he does against man vs what he does against zones.

Times he was targeted:
