Positives

I couldn't be any more excited about Jaylon coming back for a second campaign at full health with a full offseason under his belt.

Dez is gone, good or bad, WR's can focus with their new coach and get in tune as a unit. I loved Dez but he has not been the same. Move on.

Dak is on the hot seat. We need Ol help but he should be focused. No snarky comments about he has to throw it right at em. Just do it.

Zeke, legal troubles behind him (hopefully) he can a have a full productive year. We're going to have to reply on the run game since the WR's are a question mark.

Coaching, only positive I have about coaching is they removed whatever distraction they though they had in Dez. Stephen and Garrett seemed to have overruled Jerry. So that's good? I still want Garrett gone but let's see how he does with the time he has left on his contract.

Negatives? Garrett and linehan in game decisions. The noise we're getting about lockeroom divisions. We need defense in the draft. God help us, go Cowboys!

1. Dez is gone
2. Dez is gone.
3. Dez is cut.
4.Dez is no longer here
5. We have cured cancer.

No more excuses for the coaching staff. There's no reason the team shouldn't be better than it was last year considering the extra year of experience the players have together.

According to the Dez Fan Bois Garrett now has a n excuse because Dez was the best player on the team. Garret is fighting with one hand tied behind his back. Sigh.

D Law is in da house. Irving will be in da house. Martin will be in da house. Taco better add a little pico de gallo to that baby!! Hot sauce

The read headed eagle has a bum leg. Mikey B has gone off the reservation and pushed an old lady into on coming traffic. Worley has done passed out in his car with a gun in his lap. Peterson is Peter one and done. Take that Aerolithe dude bahaha

Good stuff brother and all true.

An additional positive perhaps....
If Dez was a distraction, (I think the main distraction was his drop in performance which made his other stuff tiresome) maybe this brings focus and clarity once and for all to this head coach. Win or go home. He’s had 7 years to make this his team, his players, his philosophy, his offense, his coaches, his process.

It’s time for Garrett’s team to have a deep run in the playoffs or this organization has to stop pretending it is dedicated to winning. Deep playoff run or Garrett’s fired- that’s the clarity this organization must have now. No excuses.

Yes, there can't be any more excuses for the coaches. If Stephen is in the drivers seat like we think. He has to rebuild it with his coach. Witten, Lee, and Garrett are all that's left for him to get rid of. Win or clean house I say.

Unfortunately I don't think those two thought processes, number of passes to Dez coming down and Dez remaining, could exist in the same house.

We will never know, but I thought it could happen.

Dez Bryant tended to rant when the team was struggling and he felt uninvolved. I'm sure #88 wanted more looks in 2016, it seems almost all receivers do, but the team was winning and he was an obvious part of it. I don't remember hearing anything from the players about the vanilla offensive scheme that year.

Terrell Owens came across to me as a player that cared more about his stats than the team he was on.

I never felt that way about Dez.

I'd really like to know if young dude was intimidated by older dude into throwing more his way or just how that came about. I assume we'll never know other than rumors, innuendo and hyperbole.

I'd like to know, too, but it's water under the bridge at this point. There's plenty of blame for all parties involved, but all that matters now is executing a new plan to help improve the team.

I do know Irvin went on those rants on the sidelines with Aikman too but I read they had a go between on the sidelines, I forget the guys name. Irvin would rant to the guy, he would go to Aikman on the sidelines, Aikman would make some smart *** comment and guy would go back to Mike and say "yeah, he heard ya!". Comin your way Mike, wink wink.

:) Was it Hubbard Alexander, the WR coach?

Irv knew to never go and bite the hand that fed him.

It's best to keep it lose on the sidelines. I think we missed Zeke more than we know for that looseness in the locker and sidelines.Maybe I give him too much credit but man the attitude changed in the locker in 2016. Dez had much less say, went on fewer rants. The locker was just loser in 2016. That's winning I guess

The entire Ezekiel Elliott situation last year was a dark cloud hanging over the team.

We need Zeke to mature off the field and help return the team to glory on it.

Big time. Also there is a big philosophical difference with Dez gone. Dak's game is execution, run fakes and making the right reads. They have a bunch of B list WRs that fit well with that, it won't be a weekly issue of Dez pounding on the table for more targets. I didn't think Dez was a diva, but I can also see the WRs turning into a more cohesive group if the attention is on Sanjay Lal and not Dez Bryant.
Going to the DRAFT :dance::dance::dance:

Linnehan could watch the tape on a few Pats games and take a page from McDaniels book on how to use RB's out of the backfield. Perhaps even draft one with some hands and RAC ability on top of using Zeke more. Don't want to burn out the the war horse :)

Getting the running backs more involved in the passing game can definitely be a good thing.

One of the things I've really disliked about our offense in the two tight end sets.

I don't want a 'blocking' TE who might catch 5 passes in an entire season. Defenses aren't going to be concerned about such a player and it makes the offense easier to defend.

All five eligible pass targets on the field must pose some type of threat.

I see more positives than negatives. They are in the middle of rebuilding, and can make any necessary changes right now without it hurting them too much. Fair money shape next year, got some good young players, and in position to draft a couple more. A failed year isn’t gonna kill em just yet. Dak and Garrett might be in trouble, but Dallas would still be in good shape in the batters box on a 2-2 count. Provided no big dumbo moves of course...
