Possible 2007 Starting 22

No ****. Most players make more after their rookie contracts. After Newman's is finished, he'll command a considerable amount more than Henry.

Oh, and in that play, the only way to know whether Henry was burned was to know his coverage assignment. Could have been zone in which he would release to the safety over the top (which looks like exactly what happened). If you're going to pick a play that shows Henry getting burned (and I'm sure there are several to choose from), you should pick a better one.

How about this one?

This play shows just how slow Henry really is.

Bradie James will start the season at ILB. He may not end it there, but he'll be there on Week 1.
I remember people guaranteeing that Keith Davis would be starting Week 1 at FS. No one really knows what will happen. If there's someone better suited to start, then they most likely will.

That definitely shows him getting burned without any possible excuse (other than a piss-poor passrush). Is it indicative of his overall performance? That's debateable.

Making one change in the offensive line is not going to fix our line issues.

Let's just think about this for a second.

Bledsoe was running for his life.
Romo was running for his life.

If we're blamming all of those sacks and pressures on Rivera, then we're in for a rude awakening next season.
This new offense needs atleast a couple of up grades, at least.

How would everyone feel about this REALISTIC starting lineup for next season????

QB - Romo
RB - Jones/Barber
FB - Hoyte
WR - Owens
WR - Glenn/Crayton
TE - Witten
LT - Adams
LG - Kosier
C - Gurode
RG - Stienbach - FA aquisition from the Bengals***
RT - Columbo

DE - Spears/Hatcher
NT - Ferguson
DE - Canty/Ratliff
OLB - Ware
MLB - Donnie Edwards - I believe he's either a FA or is going to be released because of cap reseasons.***
MLB - Ayodelle
OLB - Ellis/Carpetner
SS - Williams
FS - Reggie Nelson - 1st round draft pick***
CB - Terrance Newman
CB - Anthony Henry

That's 3 new starters that Dallas could realistically get and afford. I think these 3 additions would be enough to put Dallas into contention. Also both Steinbach and Edwards I feel are can't miss FA aquisitions that will produce immediate results!

i dont think dallas makes any moves to the staring lb'ers. like it or not james will be starting 8mil guaranteed and 20 mil overall says so.

reggie nelson wont be in dallas he wont even be on the board when dallas drafts. besides watkins was coming twards the end of the season he's fine. if anybody would be in trouble of losing their spot its henry. maybe.

i dont think theres really any major changes in the starting 11 on defense. theres too much time and money there not to let them play and see if they're any better in a different scheme. which i dont think they will be. but theres too much money involved there to make any real significant changes. especially LB'er. the starting lb'ers will be carp/ellis, akin, james, ware mark that down and live with it.

on offense i think the browns are going to sellout for steinbach. theres already talk about that very subject. i'd preferr deilman or davis instead anyways. more aggressive. one guy i want in dallas is wayne gandy. he plays it all. i think dallas could very well lose crayton this yr. a team wanting a #2 and not wanting to spend the money to get a guy like stallworth or drew from the titans will pony up some change for crayton. would be a loss for dallas but its bound to happen sometime.

For the millionth time: Bradie James's contract is not so high that he cannot be benched. For the next 2 years his cap hit is not too much more than Al Singleton's cap hit in 2006. His contract is on the high end for a backup, but it's not that big.

No and yes.

Only way James will start if he really shows something to Phillips and now Dat ( I loved that move btw ).

I 100% agree with you about FS. I am getting tired of the Nelson/Landry talks ( see sig ).

I wouldn't be surprised to see Kosier replaced. He wasn't as bad as rivera, but he wasn't all that great either.

Our line is funny. Most of the guys aren't horrible, but they aren't real good either. Its a catch 22. Not bad enough to replace, but not good enough to where you can really trust them on 3rd and 1.

Don't factor out the cb from New England. Assante Samuel I believe. Probablly won't command as much as Clements, but the kid can flat out play ball. If they move Henry to FS like I think they will do, we'll have to pick up another CB, and I don't know if they could trust a rookie, even if it was a high draft pick.

Samuel will be getting as much if not more than Clements. Almost certainly more, to be honest.

I think Kosier played very well. If I had to pick, I'd say he was the most consistent lineman of the group.

You could be right about samuel. Just something tells me for whatever reason there is going to be a bidding war for clements, and people may not be as interested in Samuel. Of course I have no way to back that comment up. Just a weird feeling I got. Either way, I doubt either one will be worried about making their next electric bill.

As far as Kosier, I gotta disagree with you on that one. I thought he was average. Just my two cents though.

AdamJT did a statistical rundown on Samuel and Clements and Samuel clearly had a better year. Whether that translates into a larger contract -- who knows?

We can agree to disagree about Kosier. That's reasonable.

I think that this will be their role as well. But people have talked about moving Carpenter inside, and this probably depends on Burnett. We've invested heavily at the LB spot over the last 2-3 years, so I'm not sure if we are going to pump more money into that position.

Taking Brady James out of the nickel alone will probably make the guy look better. He's not that great in pass coverage, and he seeemd to get worn out at the end of the season,.

I was unable to tell if Brady was tired from watching on tv, however he did look worn out by opposing offenses, weeks 12-16!

:laugh1:

WR - Crayton shouldnt even be in the same breath as Glenn.. But then again I wonder if Crayton would have fumbled on the Goaline Screen:confused:

LB- So you pay Bradie James serious coin in 2006 and in 2007 he heads to kickoff team? The Bradie James situation is simple. It seems like nobody here gives him enough credit on running plays. Why he was in the Nickel defense still baffles me today. HE CAN PLAY THE RUN and is probably our best ILB playing the run. If Donnie Edwards wants to sign as a nickel LB ( highly doubtful as the PATS could use him as an ILB and keep Vrabel on the outiside with Colvin) with Burnett then great!! Sign him today...

What Wade should do if he realizes what speed he has, is have this defense in the Nickel (if they dont run a 4-3 Nickel front)

WOLB - Ware
WILB - Burnett
SILB - Bobby
SOLB - Ellis

You still have your pass rush and still have speed to cover flats and TE down the field with your ILB. Not sure why they dont.

FS - Reggie Nelson

I really like this guy for his speed and instincts. He is an unpolished Ed Reed in my humble opinion. I am not sure if he will there as Donter Whitner

I think went 8 or 9 last year which really surprised me. I think Watkins will be okay either way. But if a Landry , Nelson, Hall, or that burner from Fresno State ( if he runs good) is there at 22. You should take the best available DB. If its a S then so be it.

If Landry and Nelson is gone, then move Henry back to FS and start that rook. Watkins can still contribute in certain packages such as Dime or hopefully nickel (if Roy is back in coverage on 3rd and long , I'll shart myself).

Henry's contract contains $11 Million in guaranteed money.

He makes more than Newman.

He makes more than most of the players on the team.

Please review the following video if you have any questions about the how terrible this player is. This play cost us the Commanders game.

March 1st? maybe

wait? i thought Terrell Costs us the Commander game? i think Vanderjunk cost us the Commanders game?

why do you have such a hatred for Henery did he boink your wife or something?

the uneducated one hates Henry for some reason. Not like it matters; only newbies pay any attention to him; or those masochists that like butting their heads against a stone wall.

We need a 1st round DT. :starspin
Who?

Branch will be top 15, if not top 10. So will Okoye ( although he is light for 3-4 DT)

After that any DT in first round wouldnt be smart.... Especially with some studs on the board. The boys shouldnt overextend like Buffalo did trading up and taking the DT from NC State (Spargo ?? sp)

I actually love that 22. Especially with Nelson/Merriwether/Landry playing FS.

Thats too high for him... Although I think he might be the best one out there.
I want to see some 40 times first. I thought Meriweather was like 6'1 but at the senior bowl I think he measure in at 5'10.

Next year when Kenny Phillips comes out, he will be a Top 10 pick. He plays like ST but not so aggressive. And is WAY better in coverage. At least on the collegiate level..
