Possible Center Additions

Houston has Four Centers on their roster:

Chris Meyers - Pro Bowl
Ben Grubbs-Drafted 4th round this year-Georgia

One or both of these guys below will be released.
What do you guys know about them?

They will add one. Book it. Now the addition may not start game 1, but one will be added.

Caldwell looks like a keeper. I don't see Hou releasing him.

Dallas may have a shot with the guy from Clemson.

And why do you think they'll add one?

Here's my reasons why they won't:

Costa is the starter
Arkin is a potentially the #1 backup

Kowalski is still on the roster

In other words, they should have seriously addressed it when they could instead of sifting through the bargain bin.

They have had a year to add a better player, but chose not to. I don't like it either, but the fans want a better center much more than the Cowboys do. Jerry admitted that last year was a mistake with Costa. It is a mistake that will be repeated this year.

And none of those guys are better than Costa, Bernadeau, or Kowalski.

The centers we have are the centers we have.

I feel like Bernadeau will be the eventual starter if Costa isn't holding up.

Here's my reasons why they won't:

Kowalski is still on the roster

This. Only way the Cowboys try and add a center is if someone else at the guard or center position goes down for an extended period. If anything, the Cowboys will look to replace the Big Red Machine with a player who can play guard or tackle.

Boy, I don't remember Jerry saying that exactly, i.e. naming Costa.

The one statement I remember Jerry making was something to effect of the team being "light" in the guard spot as it started the season.

Yep son of former NFL QB Bobby Hebert.

There are rumors that he and Patrick Peterson went out partying late the night before the championship game, and that they were both really hungover the day of the game.
