Cooper Rush lost our hope and faith last preseason. Mike White is doing it right now.

So why keep either one of them?

Consider a situation brewing right within our own division. Washington signed Case Keenum and drafted Dwayne Haskins. That is their present and future.

Soon to be cut perhaps is Colt McCoy. No doubt they'd try to trade him first, but if not, why not right here?

Texas player who's better than Rush and White.

Do it.

The problem with Colt McCoy is he always beats Dallas. I'd hate to see him do it while on Dallas. In truth, he wouldn't be a bad back up. Honestly, though, Dallas might as well delegate the backup QB money to Zeke's contract and have Zeke run the wildcat if Dak goes down.

He would be an upgrade. I'm for this.

I thought Cooper Rush looked pretty good Saturday. But if McCoy is cut, I wouldn't be opposed to having him on our roster. I wouldn't trade for him though. Not that the Skins would trade with the Cowboys anyway.

If the Cowboys are serious about contending this year, the current duo of backup QBs cannot be considered serious options.

The question I would have about acquiring McCoy is his contract. On a team that is increasingly squeezed for cap space, is spending even a little more on a backup like McCoy the prudent move?

There will be some good backup options available soon that won’t cost as much as Colt McCoy that may be better options regarding cost.

McCoy is one of those QBs that come along, always play decent, and yet never get a chance to start in the NFL. Never understood why that happens to some players. He is a WAY better option.

McCoy has had plenty of chances to start. He's just not very good.

Better option than Rush as a backup I suppose, but he's not a starter in this league.

Which is why I think they trade him first to keep him from coming here.

I like it. Colt is a fine QB that has already beat the Cowboys when given the opportunity.

If Dak really wanted to get paid he would join Zeke in Cabo. There is no way Dallas could go a few days of training camp without him based on what I saw from Rush and White. We have to have the worst back up QB situation in the league. Rush looks no better than a developing 3rd stringer or practice squad guy and White doesn't even look like he belongs in the league. Also, Mitch Hyatt at LT gave me flashbacks of Chaz Green.

Commanders have as their depth chart.

McCoy
Keenum
Haskins

They did not play McCoy in the 1st PS game, and started Keenum. The announcers said they were holding McCoy out for now.
He will not be available for trade or be cut.

Always liked Colt, how old is he now though?

Did you ever think Mitch Hyatt was going to make this team?

White was bad, but holy moly, he was playing with trash. I'd like to see them give him a chance to play before Rush.
