Today Darren Perry, secondary coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers, resigned. He played safety in the NFL and has coached in Dick LeBeau's 3-4 zone blitz scheme since 2002. He also receives most of the credit for Polamalu's development. (http://news.steelers.com/team/coach/49265/)

Jerry was quoted shortly after the season saying we need to utilize Roy more like Polamalu. And it would seem he's after a more aggressive defensive mind and there are few more agressive then Dick LeBeau and his scheme. Doubt it will happen, but it's a possibility that I wouldn't mind the powers that be looking into.

Or at least bring him in as the secondary coach

I remember him being a very good player (... from tecmo bowl!). I'm hoping we can get Singletary as our DC somehow but someone who's had success in another 3-4 scheme I wouldn't mind giving a shot.

If Phillips becomes the new HC, he might want to bring either Wayne Nunnely or Greg Manusky with him from the Chargers to be the new DC.

Nunnely is the DL coach and has 12 years experience...10 with SD.
Manusky is the LB coach and has 6 years experience...5 with SD.

Food for thought.

Nunnely will probably end up staying to coordinate the Charger defense if Phillips leaves.

Manusky is who would be ripe to bring along.

Or Bill Bradley.
