I know I'm gettin ahead of myself but with the uncapped year coming up,there is going to be a couple big name players released for financial reason. I could see us doing something with Barber and someone mentioned Bob Sanders in another thread. Who else do you guys think could be released??

We won't be signing any big name FA's. Because of us making it to the final 8 teams, there are restrictions when it comes to signing free agents.

He asked who would be released. We are free to sign released players.

Ohh my bad I misread it. I think possible cap casualties are:

Ken Hamlin
Marion Barber
Roy Williams (highly unlikely but you never know lol)
Flozell Adams (highly unlikely as well)
Marc Colombo

I think he meant from other teams, who we could pick up after they were released.

As much as people hate on Adams, I think he gets another year with us..Romo seems to like him and LT is a position that can ruin a whole season. Ask Bill Parcells and Drew Bledsoe.

Roy I think gets one more year and Colombo seems to be a pretty good value for us right now.

The ones I think that will be considered will be Barber and Ken Hamlin. Ken isnt playing bad but we are paying him to be a game breaker and he isnt doing that.

I'm wondering who could be a CAP CASUALTY on other teams.

Bob Sanders must be considered and same with Walker in Oakland but I think his career is coming to an end anyways.

Here is the final 8 rule.

"The rule will restrict the final eight teams in the playoffs from signing free agents. The final four teams shall not be permitted to negotiate and sign any unrestricted free agent to a player contract except for players who acquired their status by being cut or were on the final four team when their contract expired. Playoff teams five thru eight get a break to sign one player with a salary of $4,925,000 or more and any number of players with a first-year salary of no more than $3,275,000 and an annual increase of no more than 30 percent in the following years.

There is a mechanism to permit the final eight teams to sign an unrestricted free agent for each one of their own unrestricted free agents who sign with another club as long as they don't spend more than what their own lost player received from his new club."

Teams will also have the option to franchise not just one, but two players.

JUlius Peppers or Ed reed (if he doesn't retire) would be nice additions..
