Possible good news in regards to D Line

I am as bummed as the next guy that nothing was done to bring more youth to the defensive line. But....

I am wondering if Jerry knows more then he is leading onto about the Josh Brent situation. Even if Josh Brent is suspended and imprisoned this year, he could come back in 2014 and be the 1 technique this team is looking for. I wonder if Jerry Brown's mother is really going to speak out and help Josh get the lowest possible punishment. Don't want to be insensitive about the situation but this could be great news.

I watched Josh Brent all year, and he is really impressive. He would be the perfect 1 tech in this system, and then next year we could find a young, pass rushing 3 tech to put next to him.

What you guys think? Farfetched?

Everyone deserves forgiveness but it would be a sad day to see this guy wearing the star again. Sorry but he killed someone while driving drunk and I think that goes way beyond the RKG mantra.

If you're looking for some good news, watch some highlights of Brian Price. I didn't think anything of the signing until one Zoner posted about him yesterday (I'm sorry I forgot who it was) but this kid was an absolute beast for UCLA. If he can do anything close to what he did there, for us, we're in for a treat.

As for the Brent situation, I don't want him on this team. As good as he may be, a player with his past shouldn't have a third chance. If some other team wants to sign him, so be it, he shouldn't be a Cowboy.

I wouldn't waste one second thinking about Josh Brent's impact on this team (or any team for that matter).

There is a whole-lotta "stuff" that is going to need to transpire before Josh Brent plays another snap in the NFL.

No way Josh Brent is coming back to play for this team. No way:lmao2:

I'd be surprised if he didn't.

He's probably not going to be out of commission long with his legal problems. It's the league's possible suspension that could sideline him. If that extends beyond the limits of our contract with him, I could see us letting him go, but if we have his rights, we'll play him.

And I'm really hoping he gets it together and salvages a career. For his sake, and for the sake of Jerry Brown's young family.

You got that right. The last thing in his mind is playing another down of football. Unless he teams up with other prisoners and they play the guards.

;)

That and .79 will get you a cup of coffee at most McDonald's at the moment.

Is that the seniors price?

I actually think Brent would have been very productive in this D and a big loss. No way I see him playing anywhere in 2013. Not impossible he plays here in 2014.

Maybe he'll become be the next Leonard Little. Without repeated offenses of course.

Wonder if you would be saying the same thing if he played for the eagles or giants

There have been double vehicular manslaughter cases that saw minimal jail time in Tarrant County. I'm more worried about him getting Stallworthed and suspended for a year.

I have gotten to the point where I just ignore the 'righteous' indignation. One tearful public apology with Ms. Brown standing next to him and what can they really say?

Brent has been at the facility. Jones defended his right to be there at the press conference last night. He has been vague as to long term plans but considering there is no reason why they couldn't have cut him two months ago it's not hard to discern the intent here.

If he isn't suspended by the league for 16 games, I think he plays next year. I will have to put up with the sanctimony of nonparticipants but I won't care because Brent makes the Cowboys a better football team.

What about the Commanders?

Did you get that vision checked yet?

I think you are completely off here. Does he deserve to play football again? Professionally, no. Do I Particularly want him to play football professionally again? Not really.

But I think he's gonna play for us after a suspension that ends midway through 2014.

Kiffin really doesn't employ a 1 technique guy. He wants 4 pass rushers on the D-Line. It's very different from Zimmer's scheme. I don't know why people think it's not.

I respect your opinion, I really really do. I just can't see this guy ever playing another down for this team. I just can't see it tbh.
