If he becomes our OC, we really are doomed for a minimum of 5 years. I couldn’t possibly watch a train wreck that bad. If Jerry hires a man this terrible, all because he’s McCarthy’s ole’ buddy, then I can’t see this team succeeding. We will borderline become the next Jets.

Jerry doesn’t value coaching.. He won’t care.

If KM bolts, I expect another half arse search from McCarthy and the Joneses full of brother-in-lawing and nepotism equalling more losses and excuses.

I never heard of this guy and he was in the Pros before...not good. His resume is worse the Nolan's was. For the sake of the franchise I'll say BB is reaching here and has no clue as to what direction they would go in.

I'm sure Jerry has been scoping the local ball fields looking for that diamond in the rough.

If Kellen leaves I want Mccarthy calling the plays. Let's put his fate in his own hands, no net, no excuses. He comes from the offensive side of the ball anyway. Let him call the plays, and win games his way. Or better yet, let him call the plays, suck and then can him. Case an point Mike Zimmer (aka football Jesus). His defense this year is trash and he only has 2 good players, Eric Kendricks and Harrison Smith. He would love to have a DLAW, Gregory or Aldon Smith. Just ONE of those guys would make a huge difference for him. He has always fielded a good D, but he is still partly responsible for there poor play this year, since he calls the defense.

he will most likely call plays as does Reid but Reid still has top notch OC to run the weekday plans , meetings and practices, so a good OC is still needed even if the HC calls pays..

dont just throw anyone up there , you never know when you find gem who is the HC in waiting like Peyton etc

last year 3 pro bowls.

this year none. Run game is in the tank.

his fault, their fault, nobody’s fault.

he’s the OL coach,

:facepalm::angry:

No dude you are a downright Debbie downer and we all know it..he made a bunch of street FAS and practice squad players into at least a serviceable line.hes coaching a 3rd string line.. sports is about talent and coaching but when you have no talent the coach is still able to produce a servicble unit, thats credit he does deserve and its positive. Remember the chaz green and his backup and others who simply tried to replace ONE injured position and totally failed..Philbin is the best OL coach weve had since Callahan..Yes the unit and players are not great in the run game but they are good enough and a bit better in the pass game..

Its lie telling Jeff Gordon to race in Nascar race with his street car and finish high , umm no if he manages to not be last that doing something. Thats what these coaches were handed and yes they made some mistakes along the way it of desperation but really its expected..

no coach can succeed in the way you are inferring with this team..:banghead: you sir are insufferable.

no.

disagree.

the OL has been a train wreck since camp.

injuries are the excuse for failure.

This guy needs the dislike button or the Idiot button........ he is a hater for anything positive for the Cowboys

LOL.....terrible justification for a really bad take. Philbin deserves a ton of credit for this season. You need to just take the L and reevaluate you’re stance on Philbin. The fact this OL is even serviceable makes a strong statement.
Hey...if you can criticize any part of The Cowboys...it makes you special in-the-know super-objective superior fan. AKA The Kool Kids Klub.

Defending any part of it from them, even with facts..... puts you in a sub-species category.

Something I think we all can agree, with Dak likely getting a new deal Jerry and Stephen will sit back and allow just anyone to takeover ( OC ). It's why I think MM will likely be his own OC with an assistant putting the game plan together and running weekly practices. Similar to what Reid does as mentioned earlier.

doug nussmeir to OC ..ccontinue kellen type offense to benefit dak

once nuss and moore (and kitna) took more over and more,.dak and the offense shot up dramatically...

there were grumblings about MM play calling as it was becoming predictable and foes were sniffing out his tendencies, several thought
rodgers were making MM better than what he was,..and this was even when joe philibin as OC in GB.

he’s the OL coach,

Unless he went all Tanya Harding on his own players and no one told, he's not to blame for our OL troubles. Heck, we are rolling out names that even diehard fans hadn't heard of before this year. Unlike many other areas of the team, they've shown consistent improvement throughout the year. From my perspective, I can't believe that he even has this rag tag collection of guys looking like an actual NFL offensive line.

The idea that Joe Looney, Terence Steele, Brandon Knight, Conner McGovern and Conner Williams aren't going to the Pro Bowl makes Philbin a ****** coach is a hilarious concept. Even with all the upheaval, the OL still ranks middle of the pack. That is Philbin's work and you can't knock it.

Philbin is a disaster.

he’s been an OL coach only 3 seasons (counting this one) out the last 13.

Blaming his train wreck on injuries is really weak.

The problems started in camp and have continued.

We’re rolling with 3rd stringers, your argument is a little ridiculous, sorry.

Philbin has done a great job with what he’s had to work with. Great. No longer does one OL injury derail the whole offense. This is the worst run of injuries on an OL that I’ve ever seen and they still pretty much function.

Meanwhile, Colombo was fired from NY mid-season and they immediately started playing better once he left.
