i'm not moving zack martin to tackle when tyron smith and jason peters can handle it.
i'd strongly consider putting tyron smith next to zack on the right side...forming one of the dominant right sides in our history.
Tyler, Peters, Badass, Martin, Tyron
OR
Tyron, Tyler, Badass, Martin, Peters

McGovern did NOT play well in Martins absence. This Oline fell to pieces along with the offensive consistency last year when the Oline injuries hit.

All I can tell you is that if Ball is the one playing RG any hope of offensive consistency or winning a playoff game is all but over.
McGovern replaced Martin at RG in 2020 and played well. Not last year.

I didn’t say anything about Ball.

Haven’t seen this mentioned. I thought of it just now in another thread.

Tyron at LT is going to happen.
Tyler next to him could be dominant.
Biadasz is having a solid season.

McGovern played very well in absence of Martin in 2020. He could move over to RG easily.

Martin is a better guard, a HOF one, but also a pretty damn good RT.

Peters is the first backup at at least three positions. Maybe Tyron shares LT snaps with Peters for a couple of games.

Changing four starting OL spots in December may not be a great idea, but they would have time gel.

Are those our best five, or do we bench McGovern or Tyler and go with Peters at RT?
I’m not positive what I’m saying but I remember Martin saying he prefers to play guard.

There is another thread saying Tyron might play some RT. That moves one person.
Or two most think if 77 plays LT, 73 goes to LG..

Id put 77 at LT let ball/Peters get valuable reps at RT and keep 73 as the swing until the playoffs , need to keep one key piece healthy why others get reps

77-CM-TB-ZM-Peters/ball rotates.

Playoffs,

77-73-TB-70-Peters

however ill trust the coaches to get it right by the big game.

No way you move 70 nope not even a thought. not one not unless 2-3 injuries happen.

most likely Mcgovern gets left out of any scenarios where multiple moves are made..

Less moves
Id put 77 at LT let ball/Peters get valuable reps at RT and keep 73 as the swing until the playoffs , need to keep one key piece healthy why others get reps

77-CM-TB-ZM-Peters/ball rotates.

Playoffs,

77-73-TB-70-Peters

however ill trust the coaches to get it right by the big game.

Except for benching Tyler now, that’s probably what we will see.

Not benching" , "protecting" you protect 73 from injury while hes the swing a few games to get 77 back in groove at LT and Peters/Ball valuable reps..

then game 1, of the playoffs, coaches bring out new look that teams didn't prepare for

77-73-TB-70-Peters

lost of flex

Im cool with whatever the coaches do

It’ll figure it out but agreed that you never ever move Martin unless it’s an absolute necessity. He’s said as much as well

If Peters could play a full game for the rest of the year this would be simple:
LT Tyron
LG Tyler
C Biadasz
RG Martin
RT Peters

But I don't see how all of a sudden Peters is going to be able to play FT so the smart move would be to move Tyler to RT because Martin doesn't want to play it. People keep mentioning Tyron started at RT. Yeah, because he was a rookie and rookies play out of their ideal long term position to get/stay on the field and also to keep the veterans where they have proven to be the best. Which is exactly what the plan was for Tyler this year and why he was expected to play LG. It's not complicated. Let's not overthink things and make it complicated. I don't get why in the world this team would move Tyron to RT. Tyler probably right now would be a better LG or RT than LT anyway. Playing him anywhere continues his development and playing him next to Martin would probably be great for him.

That would be moronic IMO. So you'd play McGovern over Tyler? What???
Plus you don't worry about keeping your 21 year old healthy, you worry about keeping your 30 plus year olds healthy so that doesn't even make sense to me

I think you leave Tyrone at left tackle move Martin out to right.
that would give dak some protection if he'd like to roll right which he should be doing a lot!

Garret, is that you not thinking about the playoffs.
for 3-4 games , yes we are 10-3 with CM.

Moronic ??

what's moronic is losing another top Linemen before the playoff's when for the most part we are locked at 5 seed.. think harder, dont hurt yourself.
77, Ball and Peters NEED work, Tyler does not

only 4 left.. good try....

you can then put best 5 in for the playoff game.

No, it's just moronic however you slice it. Come on, that's just a silly idea by you. In what world would you sit your youngest and most inexperienced OL for a playoff run when he is also much better than guys you'd be playing and think it's a good idea? I've seen some bad posts on here, but that one is on another level...

Tyron, Tyler, McGovern, Martin, Peters, thats a massive OL right there
Now if this configuration of any sort, plays at least 50-60% of the snaps in due time, they will maul and kick S, imo.

The only thing, they might incur too many penalties...for unnecessary roughness!
