New Orleans Saints' defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis did not practice Friday, and is listed as questionable for Saturday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Ellis is nursing a sore knee that has already caused him to miss a total of four games thus far this year.
Analysis: In the four games Ellis has sat out this season, the Saints' defense has surrendered about a million yards on the ground, and almost that many rushing touchdowns. The former first-round draft pick is the plug in the middle that allows the rest of that opportunistic unit to do what they do. But with New Orleans' secondary already being the M.A.S.H. unit that it currently is, Ellis' possible absence from the lineup could mean huge numbers for Tony Romo, Marion Barber, and Miles Austin (and potentially even Roy Williams), as the Dallas offense tries to keep up with Drew Brees Co. in what will likely be a Superdome track meet Saturday night.
