First of all I'd like to introduce myself here. I don't know how I considered myself the biggest fan on the planet and didn't have an account on this site.
Jerry stated that he expects 10-11 new faces to be added to the roster by the beginning on next year. Although I believe he's hinting that he's going to be trading down, or very active in free agency which I doubt (so he's probably going to be trading down) I'm going to keep this simple and just draft based on our current picks. I also think no one jumps on our tendered players. This draft will hopefully be Offense heavy, with a couple defensive players. 2 possible selections in each round.
Round 1
Nate Allen or Mike Iupati //Darkhorse Pick - Mays as an ILB/OLB
I understand that most people are hoping for Earl Thomas at this point, but I honestly think he won't last to our pick. IMO there is little drop off from Thomas to Allen, I absolutely love the guy. CenterFielder with great range and instincts and would be a huge upgrade at FS. Great Leader, smart, physical. It might be wishful thinking hoping that Iupati falls to us, if he's there pull the trigger, but if he's not Allen definitely will be.
Round 2
Dexter McCluster or Roger Saffold //Darkhorse Pick - Brandon Spikes
McCluster would be a huge weapon in this offense, very versatile, impossible to stop from the slot, that explosive piece we're missing on offense. Not to mention his KR/Pr abilities. Of course this pick depends upon what we do with our RB's or Crayton. If he's not there Roger Saffold will be, I love this guy, could start at Guard day one.
Round 3 // Darkhorse Pick - Jacoby Ford
Dorin Dickerson or John Jerry - depends what we do with our 2nd. If the pick is saffold, then it's Dickerson here. If McCluster, then its Jerry. Dickerson is by far my favorite offensive player in this draft. Has great size, speed, and he's really underrated. In saying that, John Jerry is my favorite O linemen. Great size that we look for and is a mauler.
Round 4 // Darkhorse Pick - T. Holliday
Terrel Troupe or Major Wright
Troupe as great size for a NT and could give Rat breathers every now and then. And no Rat is NOT moving to DE. I think Troupe could give 10-15 quality snaps a game. This pick depends on what happens with Bowen and Hatcher, oh and Spears. If Spears leaves I think we target DE near the top of the draft. Major Wright really impressed me at the combine. Could take a couple years but has potential.
Round 6 // Darkhorse Pick - Leigh Tiffin
Zane Beadles or Donald Butler
Beadles is great value here, tall, strong, could sit a year and two and start. Donald Butler was under the radar until the combine. This also could be wishful thinking but its possible. Love this guy as well, fast, strong, good coverage, leader.
Round 7 // Darkhorse Pick - Eddie Hicks
Kelton Tindal or Rafael Priest
Tindal is purely a linear deep threat at this point with 4.25 speed. Very raw but could be coached up. Priest is my favorite corner in this draft. LOVE the guy. Shutdown corner. Doesn't have flashy stats but he gets the job done. Think Revis or Asomugha.
There you have it. Let me know what you guys think. Thoughts, Comments, Concerns? I'd be ecstatic with anyone of those picks.
