and the reason we get Iupati

17 San Francisco 49ers: Anthony Davis OT, Rutgers
The 49ers have a huge hole at right tackle. Tony Pashos was out for the year, while Adam Snyder allowed 9.5 sacks. Finding an upgrade here is San Francisco's greatest priority

Other 2010 NFL Draft Possibilities:
Trent Williams
Sergio Kindle
Taylor Mays

18 Pittsburgh Steelers: Earl Thomas FS, Texas
A few weeks ago, it looked like the Steelers would get a deal done with Ryan Clark. However, there's now speculation that Clark will be hitting the free-agent market on Friday. If Clark isn't re-signed, Pittsburgh could opt for Earl Thomas.

The Steelers really need to revamp a secondary that couldn't stop Bruce Gradkowski in a must-win game. Thomas had a very good Combine and makes a ton of sense here as long as Clark isn't brought back.

Other 2010 NFL Draft Possibilities:

1. Trade Up - The Jaguars can't really afford the No. 10 overall pick, so they'll be desperate to move down. The Steelers, meanwhile, would love to add Rolando McClain to their defense.

2. Kyle Wilson, CB - Corner is a huge need for the Steelers

CB - Rush LBer

I like it but there are some other teams that pick ahead of us that might grab Iupati. The Bengals have released their guard and might be looking for an upgrade. Also if the Eagles get a DE in FA, I can see them pick Iupati due to the Andrew's brothers might be done in the NFL.

Is Tony Washington moving up? Last I saw he had like a mid round grade.

Tony Washington, Abilene Christian
Height: 6-6. Weight: 311.
Projected 40 Time: 5.10.
Combine 40 Time: 5.19.
Benchx225: 33. Arm: 35 1/2.
Projected Round (2010): 2-3

I think hes kinda in the mold of Campbell - just needs some reps

http://www.nfldraftbible.com/Players/List/2010-Big-Board/Tony-Washington.html

Skinny: Tony Washington only played two years of football in high school, but was still able to attract interest from Louisiana State. However, grades kept the 6’7” 300 tackle from attending, and he instead attended junior college at Trinity Valley Community college in Athens. There, he was moved from defensive end to left tackle, a move he did not immediately embrace. After transferring to Abilene Christian, Washington has slowly worked his way into NFL Draft discussion as a left tackle, and has been ranked as high as the sixth best senior offensive tackle in the country. Washington admits that he messed up his chance to play Division I football, but says that the situation has made him stronger.

Scout's Take: Some might be surprised to see Washington from Abilene Christian ranked this high, but they won’t be thinking that when April comes around. Washington is a 6-6 300 athletic tackle, who some teams have as high as their number three overall senior tackle in next April’s draft. He does a good job being light on his feet and show good pass blocking blocking skills. The biggest question with Washington is that he plays a lower level of competition and that is what really holds him back from everyone truly believing that he could be a starting tackle in the NFL. The biggest thing that will help Washington draft stock will be the All-Star games when he will be able to show his talent against players from Division one.

Our View: Washington has great size (6’6 ¼, 302), athletic ability, and the body type that scouts look for. Despite a little stiffness, he moves very well, has a presence about him, and is a solid pass blocker, which will make him an ideal left tackle prospect. He earned 1st team All-America honors and LSC Offensive Lineman of the Year plaudits last year for his consistent play. Don’t be surprised if he gets look in the late rounds.

Not bad

Also, you are right about the Jags possibly (probably) trading down, but it's more so they can recoup a lost #2 than the money. This is an excellent draft to trade out of the slot they're in...plenty of depth into Rd2 or even 3. They'll drop to the lower round 1 and take a MLB, Saftey, or DE and still get a second rounder.

KC may trade down too if it's not falling their way.

Tony Washington will be around in the 3rd. We may have to move up to get him but he'll be there in the 3rd.

That being said, if we get Iupati in the 1st and Washington in the 3rd I would be extremely pleased. We would need to hold onto Flo for another year though because Washington is raw but has all the measureable. 33 reps of 225 lbs at the combine.

If Pouncey leaks into the 2nd I would be just as excited, if not more, if thats how our 2 first picks work out and we do something with our safety position in FA.

Iupati and Pouncey take the LG and RG spots unless Gurode moves to RG and Pouncey takes center. Bigg moves to LT and free starts at RT.

I know it's a lot of movement on the o-line but it could be set for a while and Jerry was talking about positional change. Imagine getting Tony Washington in the 3rd and all 3 top picks are o-lineman. Then Washington and Free can compete for the RT spot and the loser is the backup swing tackle.

Our o-line could be set for the next several seasons depending on how Bigg and Gurode hold up. Both those guys have 2 very productive season left in them anyways. Both PB's

Get an Atogwe at safety, maybe pick up 1 of the 2 big NT's in FA to add DT depth and I say we make a run on offensive lineman in the draft if they're there. There's a lot of talent in that regard in this years draft.

4th round a quick slot WR with dynamic return abilities. Would be a hell of an offseason because we'd get younger and more talented basically improving our weak links on the roster.

Of course Iupati would have to be there at # 27 and I doubt he will be. Campbell's combine might have helped make that a possibility.

I like Cody and he'll be effective in the pro's. Someone will get him to manage his weight in the pros.

I like what I hear about Zane Beadles. Nice input. He has legitimate size too. What kind of blocking scheme did he work with in college? Not to familiar with Utah's program.

Oh, I agree he won't be around for pick # 90. That's why I said we will have to move up in round 3 but he'll be there by mid round 3. Tony Washington will be about the 12th o-lineman taken in this draft, unless a team totally reaches. I think he's tremendous value in the mid 3rd round. No doubt.

Remember, he has the physical measureables, but his game is not very polished at all. Teams rarely take players like that in the first 2 rounds. He's the OT equivalent of our ILB drafted last year, Jason Williams.
