Won't do a trade back for this one. Just a straight mock with the picks we have. This mock assumes Spencer is gone and we manage to sign 1 DT that fits Kiffins scheme.

Round 1- Datone Jones DE/DT UCLA- Love what he would bring opposite of Ware. Can play on the interior at times in passing situations to bring an added dimension to the D. Big, strong, and very good initial quickness. Will improve the run D and make the rest of the front 7 better while also getting pressure on the QB.

Round 2- Kyle Long OG Oregon- Elite athlete for a guard. Everyone wants to transition to the smaller and more athletic guard, well this guy is pretty much the model for that. Still a little raw as he is still newish to the game, but all the tools are there. Gotta love the blood lines too.

Round 3- Gerald Hodes LB PSU- Immediate day 1 starter at SLB for us. Good in coverage as he is a former S and a sure wrap up tackler. The next stud LB to come from Linebacker U, reminds me a lot of Bowman. No idea why he isnt getting more attention.

Round 4- DJ Swearinger S S Carolina- Brings an attitude to the D that some people won't like, but is much needed in my opinion. Hard hitter who doesn't lack in coverage. Fearless and aggressive defender who can play either safety position.

Round 5- David Bass DE Missouri Western- We lack a pure edge pass rusher behind Ware. Extremely productive with 39.5 career sacks. Obvious competition questions, but he has good size, arm length, and showed good quickness and burst at the combine. I think he can make a good situational pass rusher.

Round 6- Zac Stacy RB Vandy- Tough runner who was very productive in the SEC. Fits the mold of short stocky RB's dominating the NFL right now. Reliable short yardage back who has good quickness to cut through holes and get up field.

pretty good but not a big fan of Long in round 2. Seems about two rounds too high. Love Hodges in the third.

I really like this draft. Supposing we get a disruptive DT in free agency and we lose Spencer. I think the talent and round selection are pretty spot on. I'd take Frederick in the second over long. Swearinger should be gone by the end of the third. He'd be a steal would be happy to have him in the fourth.

Round 1- Datone Jones DE/DT UCLA
I like this player. I'm not sure that he will be the BPA at #18, but he is not too far off.

Round 2- Kyle Long OG Oregon
Tall OGs (6-6) really need to be big to overcome the leverage disadvantage. He did get his weight up from 304 at the Senior Bowl to 313 at the combine, but that's still tall/thin for an OG. He does have some character issues in his background.

Round 3- Gerald Hodges LB PSU
His 4.78 forty is borderline speed for a Kiffin Linebacker. Seems more like a 4th rounder to me.

Round 4- DJ Swearinger S S Carolina
I don't see him making it to the 4th round. I wouldn't be surprised if he was drafted in the late 2nd.

Round 5- David Bass DE Missouri Western
The 39.5 sacks is an impressive number at any level.

Round 6- Zac Stacy RB Vandy
Good player and backed it up with decent combine numbers. Only negative I can find is small hands.

I think that 40 time for Hodges is very misleading. Watch the game tape and the position drills from the combine. Hes a very smooth athlete has a good quick burst. Hell, Bill O'Brien had him returning kicks and punts at the beginning of this year. He's really not a slow LB by any means. He's definitely a case of not looking too far into combine #s.

You'll be pretty hard pressed to find a scouting report that doesn't compliment his athletic ability and coverage skills, so definitely a case of the 40 times being misleading in my opinion.

And I think Long is athletic enough and displays good enough bend that the height won't be too much of a problem. He can also keep adding weight as he's got the frame to do it. I can see him being 320 by camp no problem. His character issues go as far as 1 DUI a couple years ago too, not the end of the world and can be looked passed.

Datone Jones: We should have better options at 18.

Kyle Long: Really not that impressed with him.. Honestly like a guy like Alvin Bailey better who you can probably get in round 3 or 4.

Gerald Hodge: Not a terrible pick but I find it hard to believe they would go LB in any of the first 3 rounds.. I honestly hope they dont

DJ Swearinger: This would be the steal of the draft if we could get him in round 4.. I would honestly take him in round 2 if we could get either a Cooper or Sheldon Richardson in round 1.. Love the kid.

David Blass: To me is a reach at round 5 when you could have guys like William Gholston available.. Let's get some athletes in here in the later rounds.

Zac Stacy: Not a bad pick but again I would rather take some guys with upside in the late rounds if a guy like Knile Davis is around I grab him regardless of the injury history.. A guy like Zac Stacy still cannot replace murray effectively if Murray was to go down.
