19- Daron Payne - DT Alabama

Trade up with CLE for 33....next year's 1st

33- Leighton Vander Esch- MLB Boise St
50- DJ Chark- WR LSU
81- Rashaad Penny- RB SD St
116- Terrell Edmunds-SS VT
137- Holton Hill- CB TEX
171- Colby Gossett-OG APP St
173- KC McDermott- OT MIA
193- Kentavius Street- DT NCSt
208- Brandon Facyson- CB VT
236- JT Barrett- QB OSU

I think this might be a good year to trade a future pick so I am not going to complain about that.

I would use that pick (no 33) for a top level Guard though. I don't think LB is as much of a need as G.
Payne is looking like the best we could possibly hope for at 19 so I would be happy with that.
At pick 171 we can get a LB.
I would probably go for a different receiver than Chark at 50.

All in all it is pretty good.

And I am not trading next year's #1 for Vander Esch either.

And I am not using a 3rd on a TB either.

I really like LVE...... he is big and athletic...... I love his potential

WRs are deep but drop off pretty fast .....Chark is a burner we need 4.34

I was just looking for depth at OL this year......like the small school OG

Penny is a Kamara type difference maker

LVE is the truth....... we are trading next year's 30 for this year's 33....good deal

I like LVE too but it appears we will be using Jaylon at Sam when we have 3 LB's on the field (probably about 25% of the time) and then move him to Mike when we have 2 LB's. We do need a LB but considering he will only be on the field a portion of the time I think we can use a later pick on a guy that maybe is a run stuffer and less of an all around talent.

Chark is fast but not a good all around receiver. IMO

We need a starting Guard.

Well for starters, that's lofty thinking we are trading a Conference Title game pick for 33 this year.

Two, this isn't exactly like the Kamara situation. Ingram isn't nearly as good as Elliott and Ingram was older. Kamara wasn't necessarily a change of pace guy. But in using a 3rd round pick on a TB, that's what you would be drafting - a change of pace guy. You used a Top 5 pick on Elliott, so you better get all you can out of him. Using a 3rd round pick on a TB is just a waste of resources at some level.

That is some 1980s football thinking...... there are more than enough balls to go around for guys like Zeke and Penny

That is just Year One ..... we have to move on from SLee soon....... JSmith moves back to WILL and LVE stays at MIKE

I have no problem weening him in as a rookie...... his upside is there

I love Tre Edmunds and RoSmith but they will be long gone at 19

The 1980s thinking is the person thinking we have to use another pretty premium pick on a TB to go with our Top 5 pick TB.

While we are at it, let's use our 1st and 2nd rounders on OL.

Yeah because NE, PHI, MINN, ATL, NO, GB all do it with one back

Get back to me with how those teams other than NO built their backfields.

In other words, how many used a Top 5 pick on a TB and then two years later used another Top 100 pick on a TB. Philly just won a SB with a FA TB, one that was acquired using a 4th round pick and a UDFA.

You can get a backup for Elliott without using a premium pick on one. This team isn't completely enough to start using prime picks for depth.

And we got our QB as 4th round comp....... who cares??????

No way am I trading next years first for a second this year. You never know what is going to happen and you could end up like the Texans with the 4th pick but you gave it to the Browns. To part with a first I’d need a lot more than 33 and a MLB from Boise St.

LOL. What does Prescott have to do with this.

This isn't rocket science. We used the highest of the high in terms of premium picks on a TB in 2016. On a team that has the holes they do, turning around and using a prime pick that can be used to get a legit DT or LB or S or DE or OG so you can take another TB that will play maybe 15-20% of the time is a waste of that pick.

Go get a backup TB in free agency or use a lower round pick for one. As I said, this franchise doesn't have the luxury of using a prime pick on a guy that is just going to be a backup.

No guts No glory

Don't you have a Landry/Settle/St Brown fiasco you should be defending
