-We lost some guys that we were right on the cusp of getting. Had a good board, and felt good about how it unfolded. We were efficient in the way we drafted. We addressed a lot of positions.

UDFA's
-We feel good about the priority free agents we added. Got some guys still on our board. Will be a competitive camp.
-8 of their 15 UDFA's were draftable with an average of a 4th round grade

Cap Management
-50% of cap is with your top 10 players. So draft picks have to come in and make contributions. Feel like we've really addressed how you're supposed to manage a roster.

Mike Weber
-Can be a three down back for us. Good first and second down guy. That was something we wanted to add to the team. More confident about Weber's ability to run inside than Pollard. Pollard more of a space player.

Tony Pollard
-Will be a great compliment to Zeke. Runs between the tackles, don't want to give him too heavy of a dose of that. Plays in space, plus in the return game. 30 plays per game type guy. Stephen: "Got a little Kamara to him."

Michael Jackson
-Like Michael Jackson's ability to play inside and outside. Has the traits we like in CB's. Best in press. We liked him a lot. Strongly endorsed by MIA.

Joe Jackson
-Can never have enough depth. Joe Jackson is big strong, tough, long arms. See him as a LE candidate. Plays the right way. Good vs. pass/run. MIA heavily endorsed him, they feel great about him.

Jelks
-So much to like about him. Long athletic, relentless. Plays the right way and has the physical traits we're looking for in lineman.

Trading up in Draft
-Never felt the need to move in the draft. Let the draft fall to them. Larger number of players on their board than usual. Felt the depth was there. Traded down twice when they felt there were a handful of guys they liked still available and were ok with losing some.

Trading Down
-Did not come into the draft with the mindset of trading down. Just how the draft unfolded.

Donovan Wilson
-Wilson is a really physical guy. Physical traits really jumped out to them. See him as a SS. They think him being out of position on tape/taking bad angles is coachable, but they like his attitude on the field. He does bite. If they'll bite as a puppy, they'll bite as a dog (LOL).

Pollard cont'd:
-You gotta be careful comparing guys. Lance Dunbar was outstanding for us. Can say the same thing for Tavon, who's a receiver first. Pollard has unique traits, but wanna be careful comparing him to those guys. Does nice things on offense, and in the return game. He's a tough, physical player for his size. Like that about him as well. Mainly a kick return guy, but capable of being a PR.

Re: Safety
-We knew it was possible we could leave draft without picking a safety. We needed running backs behind Zeke. Wilson will come in and add to the competition. We like what we have at safety.

Missed the first few minutes or so.

This will be popular.

And yet, somehow, our needs heading into the 2020 draft are going to be the same needs we had heading into this one.

Everyone of our guys had 1st-2nd round grades, right?

Does anybody have a link to the post draft conference? I've looked all over dallascowboys.com and don't see it.

Pollard has a very high ceiling I feel. He could translate his game to the NFL much better than we think. Speed kills as they say, and he has THAT plus a ton of position flex and experience...factor in the results and high production, we may just have found a dynamic player.

Stephen said Kamara in the same breath. Guess that explains why they took him with their first 4th rounder. They were really high on him.

the puzzling part is we don't seem to think a top safety matters very much. Its only been 20 years lol..

exactly and my guess is Will McClay has been in his ear about him for a while now. This guy may be much more than we think here on this board.

Jerry said 8 of the UDFA's they signed were draftable players on their board and had an average of a 4th round grade.Wow.

So the guys they drafted in the 4th and 5th had average of 2nd round grades. Hmmmm

Kamara was a third rounder so it is definitely possible. Pollard has better long speed, Kamara more explosive.

Stephen also said Tavon would get two dozen touches a game. He might be out of touch with reality at a way earlier age than his pops.
