That is 52 with one spot up for grabs between:

Weems, Bell, Costa, Armstrong, Cohen, Pendleton, McSurdy, Pellerin or McCray.

With Ratliff up in the air I would go with Cohen.

I think Costa makes it also I have a feeling that Hamilton sneaks on as does Armstrong

Over Rosario? I don't see it. And while I like that roster for the most part, I just do not see Cowboys taking only 8 OL when it is an obvious weakness and injury concern. Arkin and Kowalski will be battling for one spot because Cowboys are likely to bring in a vet OL before the season starts.

Also not sure Magee makes the final cut, since Carter will be the back up MIKE. And Sterling Moore will have a fight on his hands with Micah Pellerin for the final corner spot.

I think Arkin is history; evident by the Free OG exspermint.

My guess is they will go with only 4 safeties (Moore can serve as both 5th safety and 4th db) and Cohen makes the team. I think Costa gets the nod as the 53 or pick up another Guard after cuts..

Good job on the roster predictions,,, cutting down to 53 Is a lot harder than it seems, not because we are stacked with pro bowlers, obviously, but just keeping adequate reserves available. Even though Costa isn't able to flex as a guard it would seem that there's nobody else to backup Fred. If a half decent guard/center hits the waiver wire though I could see both Costa and Arkin gone, that would free up another spot for someone like Cohen since Rat is iffy at best.

I like some things about Beasley, everybody wants to have their own Wes Welker eh, but that guy is way too fragile and easy to bring down for my tastes and he's too small to play special teams(which needs all the help it can get). I'd rather keep that Armstrong guy...

Yes, Smith is a better on-the-line blocker than Rosario, but it appears highly likely that Rosario makes the team. Smith can go to the Practice Squad.

None of the TEs have done much in the passing game this pre-season but that's probably by design. I can see them flipping a coin with Smith and Rosario; the strengths of the other three TEs will dictate their fate.

The 3 tackles you have are all starters, one as a guard. So you need to add another in case of injury.

1) Costa makes the team unless he happens to get injured on Thursday.
2) Smith vs Rosario is an interesting question. Youth, cap savings and better blocking ability are in his favor. I'd think about trading Rosario to Miami, Pgh or Balt for maybe a 6th rounder. Smith plus a 6th rd pick in 2014 equals much better value than Rosario to the Cowboys at this time.
3) Ratliff will stay on the PUP if I had to guess. So that leaves one more position available. I think it will be Armstrong.
4) I don't see Matt Johnson making the team. I doubt if he is healthy. Maybe the PS. Better to roll with Hamilton.

I agree that both Tanney and Tanner should be on the 53-man roster.

Tanner will be PS, Costa makes team in his place and the 53rd will be Armstrong. Coale PS.

This is my latest projection. I think Tanney still has a shot at making the roster, as does Beasley, Smith, Frampton and McCray. With Beasley I just think his role is too limited and he has not had a chance to impress with being injured. I like Armstrong's speed and role on ST, he has a higher ceiling. At TE I think Smith has shown value and a good showing in game 5 could land him a spot on the roster, maybe going thin at WR instead. As far as safety goes, it depends on injury of Johnson and Frampton. I think McCray is done but he could make the roster for his ST role. Personally I think it's time to move on. At MLB I put Lawrence over Magee but that's another one I'm not positive about. McSurdy is another possibility there.

TE: Witten, Escobar, Hanna, Rosario (4)

OG: Leary, Free, Bernadeau, Livings, Arkin (5)

C: Frederick, Costa (2)

DE: Ware, Spencer, Wilber, Selvie (4)

DT: Ratliff, Hatcher, Hayden, Lissemore, Bass (or DE) (5)

MLB: Lee, Lawrence (2)
