Using the hellish latest Kiper Mock with some trending adjustments below:
Zack MartinOT, Kony Ealy DE, Ha ha FS, Ebron TE, Jernigan DT, Cooks WR, Dennard CB
Mosely ILB

(1) #16 Kony Ealy DE- great tape with a fast 3 cone and a recent 4.57 at his proday solidified his status. Great arm length and quick to take the corner. Can move to the 3T and perform extremely well offering flexibility. Perfect fit.

(2) #48 Dominque Easley DT- if they gamble a bit here with his medical history, but other wise he wouldn't be around this late- could play the 1 or 3 in this scheme. Could be great as a 3T and make melton expendable and not pick up the option. (Billy Turner OT/OG- might be a nice pick here alternatively)

(3) #78 Marcus Smith DE- can put on more size. Long armed Great vision and explosion.
(Line revamp continues. Pass Rushers are set-plays strongside - no hopes spencer ever returns to form)

(4) #115 Donte Moncrief WR- great hands and big play ability.
(At 6'2 220 and 4.40 speed- fits the prototype for Dallas potential to be a #2)

(5) #146 Tri Turner OG LSU

(6) Trades with Oakland: Zack Fulton OG Tennessee

(7) No picks Traded with Oakland

Houston 1. Mack
Rams 2. Robinson
Jackson 3. Clowney
clevel 4. Bortles
Oak 5. D.Carr (Bridgewater-drops)
Atl 6. Matthews
Tamp 7. Watkins
Minn 8. Manziel
Buff 9. Lewan
Det 10. Evans
Tenn 11. Bridgewater (Barr drops)
NY 12. Barr (Ebron drops)
Ram 13. Pryor (Clinton-Dix drops)
Chi 14. Donald
Pitt 15. Gilbert
Dallas 16.

Not a chance Houston takes Mack at #1, it is either Bortles or Manziel.

I haven't figured out the 6th and 7th rounds, Ealy is rising fast. I'd take this draft.

If Barr is there you grab him. I am starting to love the idea of of trading back to get an extra pick and grabbing Crichton in later 1st.

Overall, a pretty good effort. I do think Dallas takes a LB. In this mock, I could see them going LB in the 3rd over a second DE.

Ealy is not a 3-tech DT.

Too much risk here, IMO. He's had 2 ACL tears and his mental makeup is questionable.

(3) #78 Marcus Smith DE- can put on more size. Long armed Great vision and explosion.

I'll be surprised if he last this long. Great pick if available.

Good pick.

(5) #146 Tri Turner OG LSU
I think this player will "move up the boards" as we get closer to the draft.

(6) Trades with Oakland: Zack Fulton OG Tennessee
I think there might be better options here. Fulton's best fit is probably in a man blocking scheme.

(7) No picks Traded with Oakland
You probably could have drafted Fulton here and kept the extra 7th.

Ealy can play the 3 and did in college successfully. In the pros it would be on passing downs or Nickle to spell Melton

If they take Melton out of the game, it's going to be on running downs.

If they draft a DE in the 1st round, he had better be the DE on passing downs. You can find plenty of non 1st rounders to play DE on running downs.

It's noted that they are aiming at an 8 man rotation to maximize pressure. He offers flexibility is the point. Yes, he's the starting at DE and Melton DT. You saying that he can't play the 3 is inaccurate.

Taking a few snaps at DT in college is not proof that he can do it in the NFL. Hines Ward was a QB in college. That didn't make him a QB in the NFL.

Ealy is 273 lbs and they're probably going to want him to keep his weight on the low side of the range to maximize his speed/quickness at DE.

I want Crichton and Hageman. If we could somehow trade back with our 1st and use the extra (likely 3rd) pick we get to trade up with our 2nd. We could have two picks in the 30-35 range. I'd take Hageman and Crichton.

They don't match the scheme on Def. ie they are too slow.

Weak counter. Is that it? It's more than a few snaps. Hines is in no way the same in that WR and QB are different skill sets. DE and DT are much closer in this scheme is not. His weight is not a problem.
