At this point, I think we're done signing vets, so here is a stab at what we'll do at the end of the month. As usual, I use the nfl.com rankings

19.) Rashaan Evans, MLB, Alabama (23rd ranked)
I love his tape, but I don't love his workout numbers. Maybe it was some injury, what ever made him decide to not run the 40, but I am a bit worried. However, if it's just an injury, then he's exactly the type of LB we need. Could easily be Leighton Vander Esch as well.
50.) Nathan Shepard, DT, Fort Hays St (80th ranked)
Hopefully we don't take him at 50 and trade down to the end of the 2nd round, and pick up a 4th rounder. But Shepard has the size to be a legit 1 tech and athletically, compares to Maliek Collins. He isn't likely to get past Cincy at #77, so we'd have to take him prior to that.
81.) Kolton Miller, OT, UCLA (94th ranked)
Should be 3 good third round prospects here, either Kolton Miller, Braden Smith (98th ranked) or Austin Corbett (99th ranked). I think Miller has the most upside, so I'll go with him. Plus, that likely cements Collins going to LG and Fleming going to RT. Really like those two guards though. But I think the team really like Miller. I can easily see us taking Miller and *hoping* Shepard is there at 81. Maybe a slight trade up involving one of the 6ths if we target Shepard here.
116.) Malik Jefferson, OLB, Texas (134th ranked)
Due to the injury history of Lee and Smith, I really think we need 2 LBs. I don't think Jefferson will actually be here, but if so, he makes sense. Actually think we take the next two picks in the 4th round, but this fits the rankings better. Real aggressive LB, should thrive assuming Kris Richards brings some Seattle elements here.
137.) Nyheim Hines, RB, NC State (141st ranked)
The front office likes him, I'm not sure if we will adequately utilize him, but *if* Zeke goes down, Rod Smith and Nyheim Hines could be a pretty good 1+2 punch for a few games. Could be a really good receiving option.
171.) Deshon Elliott, SS, Texas (178th ranked)
I really think he has a lot of similarities with Xavier Woods, but I like Woods and the team seems to like both. He's bigger so maybe he can be the SS of the future, and Woods FS of the present.
192.) Darius Phillips, CB, Western Michigan
I really like him, not sure if he's on the team's radar, but we need more DBs that can create turnovers.
193.) Brandon Parker, OT, NC A&T (218th ranked)
Huge guy, could develop into a starter or future swing tackle
208.) Justin Jones, DT, NC State (228th ranked)

Solid DT option for round 7.

not bad.
better than some Ive seen nationally.
I like that you selected guys that are connected to Dallas in some way...via official visits, combine or pro day interviews, etc.
Love every pick except Kolton Miller....over-rated.
bottom-line...Id love this draft.
solid job.

Evans too early and Miller to late. Shepard might be available in the third. I do like Hines. And a lot of people are mocking him to us. I hope we don’t get cute and get him in RD 4 and not wait til 2nd pick. In Round 4.

If you could get me a safety earlier than that, I could live with it.

I thought the Cowboys were moving up before the Ealy signings, but after that signing I know they are if Minkah, or James fall outside the top 10.

The more I think about it, I think we grab Kolton Miller in round 2 if he's there and then work the trade lines to move up for Hayes. If I was not using the nfl.com rankings, definitely would have had it that way.

Not a bad mock. It is the trading we have no idea about on what Dallas will do. And eventhough many will say a guy like Miller won't be there, he very well could be there. You never know who will drop or just be there because teams have their own boards and don't consider as media board as being correct.

Do think Dallas targets are Derwin James, Leighton Vander Esch, Vita Vea, Kolton Miller, Courtland Sutton, Taven Bryan, Harrison Phillips, Nathan Shepherd, and Rashaan Evans in the first two/three rounds so any combination of 1 or 2 or 3 of them would be welcome sights. We have to remember that if scouts are correct and 5 or 6 QB end up going in the top 17 and no OL guys but Nelson go, then things are going to be very interesting.

Good overall value draft for sure.

Things I really like:
Overall value
LB at 19 could very well be the play. Find a long-term starter and it fills an immediate need.
at least 1 new top 100 OL is a big get.
Value for RB/LB in mid rounds feels right.

Things I don't love:
Doubling down on positions.
Lack of an interior OL.
Lack of any young WR.
