Pick 171 (5) and # 193 (6) to the Packers for # 138 (5)

1 (26)-Will Hernandez G Utep (from Atlanta)
2 (50)-Kyzir White S West Virginia
3 (81)-Nathan Shepherd DT Fort Hayes State
3 (90)-Darius Leonard LB South Carolina State (from Atlanta)
4 (116) Nyheim Hines RB North Carolina State
4 (126) Fred Warner LB BYU (from Atlanta)
4 (137) Desmond Harrison T West Georgia
5 (138) Antonio Callaway WR Florida (from Green Bay)
6 (192) Jack Cichy LB Wisconsin
7 (236) Tracey Walker S La Lafayette

I would love this haul so much.
The idea of moving down in R1 appeals to me quite a lot given what may fall where.
And I like that you moved up later to end up with no more than 10 picks total.

Emphasis on team visitors too.

1 (26)-Will Hernandez G Utep (from Atlanta) ---Day 1 LG. Love this pick.
2 (50)-Kyzir White S West Virginia ---Great Safety option. Good player who should play as a rookie.
3 (81)-Nathan Shepherd DT Fort Hayes State ---Another quality DL which is always nice. Should provide snaps year 1.
3 (90)-Darius Leonard LB South Carolina State (from Atlanta) --Back ups Jaylon and may even get the upper hand in a battle there.
4 (116) Nyheim Hines RB North Carolina State ---3rd down back day 1. Brings speed and explosion.
4 (126) Fred Warner LB BYU (from Atlanta) --Another good LB to help add depth.
4 (137) Desmond Harrison T West Georgia ---Developmental tackle to replace Chaz Green.
5 (138) Antonio Callaway WR Florida (from Green Bay) ---Head case with lots of talent. A year on PS would be ideal to help him grow up and mature.
6 (192) Jack Cichy LB Wisconsin ---A 3rd LB is kinda crazy but this would be insane value.
7 (236) Tracey Walker S La Lafayette ---Again a double up at Safety but again value is absurd and this is a very deep position this draft.

This seems like a good draft, I just don't see a need to take 3 LB. I really like Jack Cichy LB Wisconsin as a late round sleeper. Warner and Leonard are both studs, but I think there may be a need at CB with Scandrick leaving.

The players are all great but I think you are taking most of them too late. A lot of these guys will be gone. Probably half?

I wanted to rebuild the LB unit as the depth at the position was the thinnest on the roster. As for CB, Bryon Jones is expect to move there full-time that leaves 5 strong at the position, where Woods could even fill in if needed

It was hard to not take LVE or Evans at 19, assuming all the blue chip prospects didn't fall. Addressed the position with large numbers.

I used a combination of a couple media big boards, tried to make it as realistic as possible.

I like this mock. Love the lbs picks especially if Cichy can come back from all those injuries.

I forgot about Byron Jones moving to CB.

Is Josh Jackson a possibility for the front office? Was he a 30 visit? Solidify the the DB's and then load up on LB's and the trenches the rest of the draft with maybe one WR. I do not see a need for a TE.

And by refusing to reach for need you end up with an A+ draft in my opinion.
And one that would really improve the team.

If you reach at 19 to fill a need your pretty much stuck reaching next couple rounds as well and you basically rob yourself of draft position.

If there are 14-16 legit R1 guys you sit at 19 and if one falls and it is a position you have on the board you draft it.
If not drop down to a comfortable spot to take legit R2 guys.
The Travis Frederick selection was one I really go back to as being a great value and strategy.
Drop that far and get a top 3 player at his position in the entire league.

He's a Dallas kid. I don't see CB on the list for us at all but they will know that player well.

BTW, love the Darius Leonard pick because he is the guy who actually played in a 4-2-5 in college and racked up 394 tackles. Yes it is was small school but he knows the scheme and made plays all over.

He went to the Senior Bowl in a base 4-3 and was the defensive MVP with 14 tackles.

It would shock me exactly zero if he is a better pro than either Evans or LVE. He's a little smaller at 6'2" and 234 but he is basically the prototype NFL backer now.
He ran a 4.7 flat but pulled his quad on the attempt and may be much faster.
Teams like Dallas that get him in for workouts may find he has more speed than the tier 2 LBs as his game tape showed a sideline to sideline demon.
