I wonder if Cooper was pulled for lack of effort. He is the same beast that we’ve praised for his route running and big plays in Dallas, but it looks like he just goes through the motions when he’s not the primary target. Now, I would ask Moore why we call plays that don’t have him as the primary target most of the time, but I was disgusted by the game plan. He must have run 70% 5 yard crossing routes or straight ahead clear outs tonight, like the plan was to hit other guys underneath after running the DBs back. When he is not the primary target, he looks like he just goes through it so lazily. And we’ve seen a few Dak overthrows to him this year when Dak got to him in the progression, but Coop wasn’t even looking for the ball.
I wonder if that’s the sort of thing they soured on in Oakland. This is all just an opinion, except we truly saw a ton of 5 yard routes from him all night.
