Trying to get more realistic.
So signing Sharper with that one big contract.
Sensabaugh will be resigned.

1. Trade down for 2nd,3rd,5th

Pats pick up Marcus Spears with one of their seconds

2a. Maurkice Pouncey C/G or Nate Allen FS

2b. Nate Allen FS or Daryl Washington ILB

2c. Daryl Washington ILB or Chris Cook CB: If Scandrick has shaky season...
will add weight to replace
Bradie James
great leader.

3a. Jason Fox OT

3b. Javier Arenas CB KR/PR or J.D Walton C

4. Dorin Dickerson FB/H-Back or John Jerry or Mitch Petrus

5. Arthur Jones DL or Torrell Troup

6. Clifton Geathers DE

7. David Gettis or Kelton Tindal WR
Polished vs. faster

pretty decent mock draft, just one little thing wrong, if spears is signed, its worth a number 1 pick, not a 2, so say if pats do trade for him, it would be more than just a 2, say a 2 and a 4 or 5 something like that. but otherwise nice try at a mock draft

Why do people think the Pats would trade a 2nd for Spears? They can likely trade 2 of their 2nds to get Jared Oldrick (younger and far more upside). Seriously would you rate his value as a 2nd?

I blame Hos

He was tendered as a second right. He is tendered less money than Bowen

whenever i look on sites suchas walterfootball it says he is a second
there are a couple of threads on this he was tendered as original draft pick which was a first but it was thought that based on the rules of restricted FA that we would only get a second if he was signed away but the league ruled we would get a first(at least this is the way i understand it)

Too high for Fox. I also dont think many teams will give a two for Spears. This is too good a draft to be reckless with picks.

Find more reliable websites... NFL.com, the official website of the NFL, says his compensation would be a first round pick...

Sure am glad you were going for "realistic" this time... I mean, the Pats send the Boys a 2nd for Spears, they get some team to bite on a trade down of a our 1st for a 2nd, 3rd and 5th, how much more "realistic" can you possibly get??

Have you ever even TRIED a mock, in the approximately 10,000 mocks you're shared with us, where the Boys keep their first?? Guess you think Jerry was lying when he said pretty clearly that the Boys planned on keeping that pick...

I hate to be hard on you, but with all the mocks you've cranked out, I've yet to see one that could really be called "realistic"... it's not that I don't like the players you like, in the range you like them, it's your whole approach to this draft that I find to be unrealistic...

i have done a mock with keeping our first round pick. I dont pay as much attention to the cowboys than you because i live in freakin' Massachusetts and being in high school at the same time doesn't help. I watch all the games i can but im more focus on work than on the Cowboys. I just throwing up Hail Mary's

I think this mock has as much chance as any at this point in time, I almost would rather have all of your second choices, what makes this center(Pouncey) so great that everyone is throwing him at us. This election of candidates for the cowboys mock is indeed a deep thinkers paradise, not to be taken lightly and with many side streets to navigate, Silver Bear is correct with his Occam's razor approach, the simplest explanation makes the most sense. I understand it is not as sexy as a big trade and our direction has been changed from sexy to lunchbox.

OK, fair enough... but for the record, I live in Virginia, and work 50 hours a week... so it ain't like all I do is sit around and read up about the Cowboys and the draft...

Also, I've already said that I like most of the players you've recommended, so I'm not criticizing you for your analysis of players... what I'm doing is messing with you because you seem obsessed with the idea of the Cowboys trading down with that first pick...

In your own way, you're every bit the greedy draft ***** that Hos is... your mind seems to be constantly working on ways the Boys can wind up with 15 picks... LOL...

I dont think Spears is going anywhere, but a 3-4 team that really needed a DE would probably be very interested in trading 1 for Spears, who is a solid 3-4 DE and certainly more of a sure thing than trading multiple 2nd rd picks for an unproven rookie. Especially a team that sees itself as a contender.

Teams don't trade first round picks for "solid 3-4 DEs." Spears like you said is solid, but is also one dimensional. And while he's more proven than a rookie, I also said he has zero upside. You know exactly what you're getting from him, and he won't suddenly become a pass rusher.

Oldrick may be unproven, but he's a rookie, all of them are unproven. It's like saying a team than needs a QB would probably be very interested in trading a first for Jason Campbell. He's solid, but with him you know what you're getting and teams don't trade a first for solid players.

Trading 2 of their 2nds definately would be a great deal if you can land a first and get a guy like Oldrick

I didnt catch the typo before, but obviously I meant trading 1 2nd rd pick for Spears. (Since the Pats have 3) I cant fix it in my original post now.

Who replaces Spears? And does that upgrade our starting lineup?
