Let's go fishing.

I wish I had time to do it this summer. Next year let's try and get a whole group and go. I had a 4 day deep sea fishing trip out of H & M that was less than 400 bucks.

That would be a great trip... you can catch some big fish outta there...

I've only gone deep sea fishing once, when I was about 13. I was one of those landloving sick folk - I laid down and slept the entire trip. It was horrible. Also one of the reasons I am joinging the Army instead of the Navy.

But I will try again someday - I have spent most of my life fishing freshwater, and I really want to catch a large salt water fish of some kind.

That's supposed to be an awful feeling. I don't get motion sickness luckily but my nephew sure did. I had more fun making my nephew Aaron throw up than anyone should have a right to.

Last day of the trip we had 10 foot swells. I was sitting on the bow riding it like Slim Pickens riding the missile in Dr. Strangelove. Spray right in the face, soaking wet.

This was our charter. I was right on the front where you see the anchor, hanging onto the ancher rigging to ride it.

Highlight of my trip was feeding a snow white baby seal. I wanted to bring it home. He was so cute.

I'm all in favor of doing that next year. Go from TC right down the coast to SD and out to sea.

There are some spots way out where they land tuna that are 100 pounds and more. You can fish for more than just tuna though.

It was 210 bucks per person for 4 days food included. Having my tuna fileted, and extra stuff that I did it still came out to less than 400 bucks for the whole trip.

Our cabin was 6'6" wide x 6'6" deep x 6'6" tall and slept 6 men. Two bunks on the floor, 2 more two feet above those, and two more abov those then the ceiling two feet above that. Your suitcase has to fit in your bunk with you. I recommend packing light. I couldn't belive how well I slept though. The ocean rocks you to sleep.

How many people? That is amazing - sounds like a blast. 4 days well spent.

And who cares about sleeping arrangements? I can sleep anywhere, anytime, any position. Comfort is overrated, sleep is underrated.

The only downside to the whole trip was that there had been an underwater earthquake the day we left and that makes the fish lethargic. Usually people catch 8 to 10 apiece.

I only caught one, a 15 pounder and he fought me for 25 minutes. That was worth it. When you finally get them close to the boat and they dive you can see the silver of their belly gleaming in the water. Very pretty.
