Only think keeping Smith out of RD2 is his weight. but the DEF the Cowboys play the put speed over size. I think a team at the bottom of RD3 would take him. I could see Daas trading down some picking up a extra pick and taking Smith later in RD3.Having Smith speed and cover ability to go with Lee's all around game and Carters speed and strength rushing and hitting the LOS woud form a very good LBer core.

I agree about Henderson but the guy is just a enigma. Theres too much talent to pass on him in RD5. If he doesnt work out then you have a inexpensive backup for the next 4 yrs with minimal cost. But if the ight turns on you have a huge mean monster on the right side.

Ive been looking at video on Uko and he just has something about him. quick off the snap and is always in the mix. Disruptuve is the word id use to describe him. Nice backup for Melton and can team up with Meton inside on passrushing downs.

Yes, I like Uko as a 3-tech.

If they could get Smith in the 4th or maybe later 3rd, I would consider just letting him stay near his college weight and be a nickel LB coverage specialist. He is unlikely to play LB full time without bulking up from 218 to 230+. Even at 230, considering that he's 6-3, he will still be thin.

I think Henderson was already about a 5th at best due to his character issues in college. I think he was suspended for at least 1 game every season for conduct issues. He quit in the middle of his Pro Day which probably pushes him down to the 7th or UDFA status. I think Brandon Thomas is a sure thing at OG or possibly RT, but will have to spend a year on IR. I expect him to be about a 5th round pick.

Clowney is the best DE in this draft, but he doesnt fit a 3-4. Project as a 3-4 OLB. Texans dont want that top pick

I agree...if the texans were smart, they have A LOT of options @ #1

I like Smith's game, but i do think Dallas wants to see how Hollomon is doing in the workouts before the draft.

I even think Shazier could be an option for Dallas.

If Hollomon is good to go without any limitations i think he would end up being that SAM.

If that happens everything changes and i can see these guys being a target

Stanley Jean-Baptiste CB Nebraska
Phillip Gaines CB Rice
Jarvis Landry Wr LSU
Jack Mewhort OL Ohio State
Josh Huff WR Oregon
Trai Turner G LSU
Chris Davis DB Auburn

Or if he's avail a trade up for Dominique Easley DT Florida

I dont think Clowney would make a good OLB. Spurrier himself has said Clowney does one thing very good and thats get up the field. When asked about his work habbits and stuff he dodged the question and just said he's not some of his ex players who had good work habbits. Very telling

I am not a big believer in Clowney...I have said a few times that I think that people look at his measurable and that one hit tow bowl games ago and make him out to be a once in a generation player...I just don't see it...I believe him to be talented, but I just don't see him as the best player in the draft...top 10? sure...top 5? ih? I think likely Mack is the best, there are 2, maybe 3 tackles and maybe 2 WRs that I would rank either with him or slightly ahead of him. the bust potential for this guy hovers over him....some team in the top 5 will look past that and think that they have the magic elixir to improve his work ethic....good for them....not a fan

He's going to make an impact IF he can play the run well. If he rushes up the field like Ware did last year then he'll get gamed. If he could play OLB then he's on everyone's list...somewhere...since he can play the 4-3 and the 3-4.

I reviewed Holloman in the final game of last season. He was at MLB and was much better than I remembered. IMO, he is a solid player that is good in coverage but has the size to play any of the 3 spots. Considering that he was a college Safety/OLB and didn't practice MLB until late in the season, his performance was impressive.

I expect them to let him challenge Carter for WLB with the loser probably being the starting SLB. Holloman should also be good as one of the two LBs in the nickel and possibly the 1 LB in the dime.

Telvin Smith is probably a little faster at his college weight than Holloman, but if he bulks up they might be similar players. I really like the idea of having Smith play at near his college weight as a nickel/dime LB or let him play some Safety on running downs. He is a unique player now, but if he bulks up he could become just a guy.

I definitely like Trai Turner on that list. Baptiste and Gaines are also interesting. I want some size at CB. Baptiste could also play some Safety. Mewhort is a decent player. I think he has limited upside but will be ready to contribute as a rookie. I think he is a RT only or possibly a Guard; although, 6-6 Guards usually need to be in the 325 range to offset their leverage disadvantage. I have not studied the WRs too much, but enough to know that it's a deep position. I expect them to take one at some point. I would shy away from a shorter guy like Chris Davis. Not that they can't have any shorter DBs, but they already have Webb and Moore at 5-10, and 5-9. He does have a impressive vert, but there are just to many of the monster sized WRs in the NFL now. The Cowboys really need a least 1 bigger developmental CB. Gaines is big enough at 6'1/2", 193 with decent arm length.

I think they should phrase it as "Clowney has the physical talent to be a generational type player".

We do need some long CBs.

This I can live with....but, talent without the drive/motivation is just that, talent, not success...I certainly would love to see what marinelli could do with him, but I would never trade the farm for him or anyone else in this draft

Is he fluid enough to cover? Is he big enough to shed blockers at this level?

Im sure he can and if he has trouble with it, they wil work with him. Rookies im sure all have flaws.

It's one thing to correct technique problems. Fixing hips and adding instinct is not worth the effort IMO. Not saying he has those problems as I don't know him well enough. Just asking questions.
