Postgame Thoughts

I have a question about the long kickoff. If you are kicking from the 20 yard like we were then you kick it out of bounds would it be placed at the same spot as during a normal kickoff? If so I don’t know why you don’t just kick it out of bounds there and not risk it.

Out of bounds kicks are placed where the ball goes out of bounds or 30 yards from the kick, whichever is more advantageous for the receiving team. So it of bounds kick there puts the ball at midfield.

The real problem was the 44 yard return. That's just ridiculous. Our special teams are not good.

Cooper bailed us out hard core. Playcalling was back to predictable. It just happens that the Commanders cant tackle. The previous two games Dak was trusting his reads and letting it rip. Not tonight.

Romo was not a great thrower at all when he was in his mid 20s. You need to re-watch some of those games. He airmailed deep balls all the time and he was skittish on other throws as well. He worked on his accuracy for years and years to get better.

What made Romo special was his ability to avoid pressure while keeping his eyes downfield and throw on the run.

Funny you use a Darren Woodson/Parcells story as some sort of proof that Romo was far better than Dak at age 25. Remember when Dak played so well as a rookie that it basically ended Romo’s career? Pretty sure the Cowboys veterans all bought into Dak that year too.

Actually, it was Romo’s ability to throw the ball that kept him on the roster as an undrafted free agent. He was far from a finished product and I never suggested otherwise. What i said is that Dak doesn’t have the same arm talent that Romo had and I stand by that statement.

Dak played well as a rookie, yes, but the only reason it “ended Romo’s career” is that Romo, by that point in his life, had a serious injury history. He was, and probably still is, a vastly superior quarterback than Dak. In retrospect, the team made a HUGE mistake by not putting Romo back in as the starter. They had a chance to win the Super Bowl that year and Dak’s horrible first half against the Packers killed that chance.

You do realize Martin is banged up. They had a rookie at guard and has been replaced..Tyron has had and still has back issues and THEE worst unjury in the entire NFL is Fredbeard out.

So, on the OL Dallas has an injured Martin yet everyone expects Dallas is to carry on at a pro- bowl level.

They're doing a damn good job with all the injuries in the trench.

Play calling on passing downs needs to be two steps and release. Period.

Every team has injuries—- and none of those have any impact on Dak’s poor footwork and tendency to hold the ball too long.

Dak still sucks.
No SB with JG, OC and Dak! We aren’t going anywhere, there are many teams that are hard to beat. What do they all have in common a great coach and a great QB. However JJ would not trade Dak for 2 first rounds, that makes me want to quit! What a senile!

Serious question: when you watch other NFL games, do you scrutinize the QBs this closely?

Because I see misses in just about EVERY game by EVERY QB.

Why is it that Dak’s mistakes are amplified and remembered more than his great plays? He had 3 TD and 0 turnovers!
You know what summarizes Daks play. Three straight plays. Miss a wide open Noah Brown-Take a bad sack-dump the ball off when you still had time in the pocket to hit Beasley in the end zone

Rinse and repeat.

Hahahahahaha

The fact that 1 bad sequence is all you’ll take away from this game is hilarious.

Dak was a stud overall. I’m sorry he ruined your holiday.

Thanks coach

Dear Hawkeye 19,
Dallas had one the most elite offensive lines in the league and Dak was incredible..

Sick of this lame *** excuse "Duh.....other teams have injuries."

Cowboys we're built to run, short pass game, and they don't have that now. Wonder why?

Of course you don't......I could surmise by your regergitated response

It's football there are injuries and there are a plethora of injuries.there is no footwork when one is constantly on the move. Why....? Just explained it to you.

I didn’t know that. Thank you. I agree. We need some special teams work.

No that was a clear penalty that forced a jump. The DL made the referees call the penalty,

His standard move was done AFTER the refs had already set themselves and blown the whistle, meaning it’s not alllowed. The normal standard move is made when the referees still haven’t set.

Enjoy drinking your own urine. Lol.

It was a 90-yard TD pass and that’s what it will be for the rest of eternity. Sorry to break that to you.
That pass was his only notable pass of the game. The run was tough but can again after a terrible decision to spin backwards out of the pocket as usual. Please give me one other pass that Dak made that all 31 other starters could not make.

Dak was average for most of the day, below average for good chunks and brilliant on 2 plays... credit where it’s due and honesty overall... just sayin’

How many other backwards out of the pocket did he have. Every game same thing.

Oh, so out of 22 completions, only ONE was “notable”?

LOLLLLLLLLLLL

It’s like you think his job is to impress you. His job is to win and he’s 28-15 as a starter.

Hate on, hater!

Wait, whut??? WHo is Bailey? Or are you talking about all the punts that BEASLEY fielded at the 10?
Beasley is not in there for his return skills for sure
I’d like to add a return guy in next draft who is done threat

Yep 1 notable- that’s all 1 pass that made you think wow nice throw Dak

29 attempts for 145

I mentioned 4 easy misses that any AVERAGE NFL QB makes 10 out of 10 times that Dak missed badly on. The easy td to Brown, the easy out to Beasley who had 3 yards of separation, the easy throw to Gallup who had 2 full strides on the defender, the easy throw down the seam where Dak trips over himself and bounced the ball a full 5 yards in front of the receiver turning a should be td drive into a field goal.

It’s not just his “misses” as in incompletions that I’m talking about. Even his completions are misses a lot of the time. Amari’s first td was a miss, but the dB fell down and left Coop wide open to sprint to the end zone.
Dak missed some passes but I think if you really think an avg QB makes 10-10 then you ate too much turkey
Cooper made great plays that made Dak look good but Dak made the throws
I’m not convinced that Dak is or can be an elite passer but he’s as good as several nfl starters

I didn’t say that an average qb makes 10 out of 10 completions. I said on the 4 passes I discussed, they should make them 10 out of 10 times. Look at the throw to Noah Brown at the goal line. There isn’t a defender within 8 yards of him and Dak throws the ball from the 10ish yard line. All he has to do is get it to him and it is an easy walk in td. The throw to Beasley was a simple out with yards of separation. The deep ball to Gallup was an easy throw by NFL standards. Even if it doesn’t result in a touchdown all you have to do is put it in front of him and it is a 40 yard play, but Dak underthrows the ball by at lest 5 yards for an incompletion.

I saw no turnovers for the 3rd straight game, 3 TD and a 3rd straight win.

If you saw anything different, get new bifocals.
Not all wins are equal! Get your Rose Colored Glasses off. This was an ugly win vs a team with a backup QB and 3 backup O lineman.
