Who is the top WR in this Draft that would fit well with CD Lamb???

Trading Pickens, should land his replacement in the Draft. Then we could sign Trey Hendricks as a Free Agent, resulting in an elite front 4.

Flournoy is coming into his own as well.

We scored 500+ points without Pickens in 2023, he is more of a luxury than a necessity.

We have to fix our Defense, first and foremost.

If we draft a WR in the first It better be in a trade down and yield us a "mid to late" 2nd rounder where a lot of talent will remain.

Denze Boston, 6-4 209 (projected late 20s) is not as explosive as Pickens but is a red zone threat and a high point ball snatcher, which are not CD's best traits. Although I like Pick's high pointing abilities we don't really have a go-to red zone guy like Boston. I was hoping Fergy would be that guy, but unfortunately not.

I like Boston as well for similar reasons.

Let's say we could tag and trade Pickens for a late first. Basically trading Pickens for Boston, while saving $30M/year.

Thoughts???

I'd love this idea, but IMO, we're not getting a 1st for Pickens. I don't think anyone will give us a 1st, knowing his issues and that they'll have to pay him $35M or whatever it winds up being.

Yeah I can’t justify a WR in first round.

And LOL at this franchise spending cash on Hendrickson in FA.

Well we got two for Parsons and no one seen that coming.

I don't even know if its possible but could we tage and then trade Pickens?

He has been a fun player but he has also brought some if the headache from Pitt that likely kept a ton of teams off his market.

I am not opposed to getting the pick and using the money on defense.

I am a big fan of Tate but he has had a meteoric rise and might go top 10.

I think a 3rd maybe 2nd if lucky is probably more realistic...

I don't think Pickens will command a 1st, even if we tagged him for the idea of a trade.

Like it or not, how we got a talent of his kind at WR was due to his antics. While improved, I don't think the slate has been wiped clean just yet to maximize his value.

Pickens probably gets traded 2 years from now after a massive contract goes sour for a 5th round pick.

Can't justify a WR in round 1, but can justify a $30M+ WR2?

This defense will never get fixed.

I think he could for the right team.

I could definitely see the Chiefs taking a gamble to add his talents to their receiving corps. They’re a team that sees itself as a contender and may believe losing a potential late 1st rounder as worth it.

When NE gets spanked in the playoffs, they will want to add some offensive fire power. Although I don't think he would be on their list.

Good call.

You can also never factor what stupidness the Raiders are willing to get themselves into. They are pretty devoid of talent at the WR position currently.

Good points...gosh the Chiefs getting Pickens then having Worthy on the other side would be wild.

If Dallas could get Tate or Tyson and save some money, I'd be good with that strategy.

Wouldn't using that pick on a defensive player instead of WR help the defense?
You think a rookie would be a bigger impact than spending the $30M on defense???

Plus we will get something in value for trading Pickens. I would think at least a 2nd.
