Willie Walden, Montana. 6'7", 270 lbs.

BP claims to want to draft a TE every year. This guy is huge. He didn't have good receiving numbers at all at Montana, but I don't think they used him much. He had a couple of very nimble catchs in the I-AA playoffs against Sam Houston State and James Madison. With his size he either should be or could learn to be a great blocker.

Definite 7th round/UDFA type, but I thought he looked like he moved exceptionally well for such a big guy and seemed to have good hands when the ball was thrown his way.

Why not? If you can pick up 6'7" ogre in the 7th round who can develop into an effective blocker and receiver, why wouldn't you do it? I like two TE sets.

I think we get an extra 6th rounder comp pick for Ekuban (according to Adam), maybe use one of those on a project? Whether it's this guy or someone else . . . .

That's surely a whole lot better than the umpteenth return specialist.
