95% of Zoners have already given up on the season. “Jerry wasn’t prepared for Tyron going down.” “Jerry didn’t address the WR position.” Jerry didn’t do this or that. The fact is, Jerry doesn’t do any of that. It’s Will McClay and the coaching staff who address personnel decisions.

If you’ve paid attention to OTA’s, Mini Camps, training camp, inter-squad practices and preseason games you would see that the Cowboys are going to be a power running attack team. At least, initially. This is because teams like Tampa Bay are going to dare Dak to throw the ball. They figure that playing a rookie at LT, a JAG at LG, a JAG at C, a HOF at RG and a JAG at RT is a recipe for a win. They think all of this because of Zoner posters. You couch potatoes have no clue. There’s posters here that habitually crap on Dak, the offensive line, the coaching, Perception becomes reality.

In reality, the Cowboys are going to be a power running game. Preseason is preseason but they’ve been successful running the ball in every game. Without the starters. If you can run the ball in the NFL then your offense is going to be successful. If you can play defense like the Cowboys can with that power running offense then you can go far.

The unknown that everyone is overlooking is the QB, The many ignorant Zoners here pound their chests saying “What has he won!!!!!”. They don’t look at what he can do. They don’t look at his stats. They only look at the fact that “He hasn’t won squat”. Those are the ignorant losers who only come here to crap on Dak and or the Cowboys.
Come on Rocky stop everybody hasn't given up on the season but people are very ticked off that positions that should have been addressed in free agency were left unattended and now it makes things quite a bit more difficult than it would necessarily have to be to get to the playoffs.

Whether or not Jerry is responsible for every bad decision is neither here nor there because if he's not responsible directly he employs whoever is responsible.

That said please don't flatter yourself and think that zone posters have any influence over anything in the NFL our opinion and a buck will get you a cup of coffee.

What is telling is when Nate Newton is on national television being prodded by Michael Irvin to say something positive about our offensive line and he absolutely refuses to say anything positive and basically just says they suck and are trying to get through with the game.

That in my mind and I would think any serious football fans mind would be cause for concern if you're expecting us to have a serious power running game.

Cowboys fans always want us to be a power running team. We had a magical year in 2016 when we were an awesome force. Ever since then we have reverted back to the shiny toy that Jerry dreams about. If you look closely the truth is there for all to see. Dak will throw for a million yards and sell a million jerseys and it will be glorious. Anyone still hoping for power football needs a time machine.

So other teams are going to dare Dak to throw the ball but we're going to duck that challenge and run into overloaded boxes. Doesn't sound like a vote of confidence for Dak. I don't understand why you don't believe in Dak, hater.

LOL, well i guess you have inside information that the rest of the fans here don't have. you're opinions are just like every one else's here. Just a unconfirmed, unofficial, and a wild guess. It is also idiotic to think power football is gonna be a recipe to winning for the Cowboys. Not gonna happen with this OL. Also being a penalty happy team does not go well with driving the ball 75 yards on 15 plays.... this team will go backwards and your dear old Dak is exposed once again for just being a stat piler who folds against the above average teams. Since YOU brought up Dak, not sure why they ever paid this guy $40m...but that's another story. You are surprisingly right about one thing, the defense and the OL will be what carries this team, because Dak certainly can't. But that only gets you one and done once again. You need some big key offensive plays in the playoffs. I trust on the defense, but the offense, uhh.... no.

They didn’t look like they power block in the O-Line. I think philibin is a zone blocking O-Line coach and he needs to go. He needed to go last year. He should have never been here. He is MM buddy and he holds us back.

yes and a no. its Jerry and stephen in charge of the cap, and when they decide that 20M left on the cap is what they want to go to the bottom line, then its them. Will McClay may suggest players, provide evaluations. but Jerry is the GM. the GM has the final call.

don't try and make excuses for Jerry's incompetence....

Great points. Everyone also forgets about 11 from heaven and the defense. I hear the negative Nancy boys say the defense can’t cause that many turnovers again. I disagree. The pass rush, linebackers and secondary have upgraded from last season. Quinn’s defensive philosophy is based off of pressure and turnovers.

You ignored this part below when called out by another poster. Wonder why. LOL

TB thinks we have a rookie at LT, JAGs at LG, C and RT and a HOF at RG because posters here are saying that? Tampa Bay is basing their opponent player evaluations on what posters on Cowboyszone say about the Cowboys OL?

There's no reason to give up on the season if the Jones' extract their heads from their butts and admit the limitations of the roster right now. You bring in an Eric Fisher, for example, that gives you a competent LT that gives you the flexibility to bring Ball and Tyler Smith along a little slower as it's clear neither is ready to be a starting LT right now.

Bingo.

Everyone that was sane knew the swing OT position was going to be a prominent position given that Tyron Smith hasn't finished a full season in 6 years. The importance of having a good backup OT was heightened here compared to other places simply because of that simple fact and we've seen the team's performance and prospects change when Smith isn't in at LT. The position called for a decent vet.

Instead what Jerry and his boy gave us was a highly risky plan where they were banking on a 2nd year player with zero real NFL snaps and a rookie 5th round pick from North Dakota to lock down that important position. And it's backfired. Ball has struggled in game action. Waletzko was raw to begin with and then had his bum shoulder act up again to the point they were going to shelve him and look at surgery. The only reason Waletzko came back last week to try to see if he can play through the injury was because the first two preseason games showed that Ball was struggling and the team realized, crap, we may have a backup OT problem. Then Tyron got hurt and the team was left scrambling.

Jerry and Stephen got burnt by Fleming and Nsekhe and just figured FA OTs stink, I guess. The problem is that when you shop for cheap parts, like Fleming and Nsekhe were, you shouldn't be surprised you get low results. They should have spent a little more and brought in a legitimate veteran.

Exactly my point. I've said this before, I can live with FA fails cuz at least the FO tried. Just sitting on their hands though is a very dumb move.
