I think this is a fair spot to be in. We definitely look much improved from last year with specific regard to the way these players are prepared every week. They look prepared when they step on the field and they're starting to play with some swagger.

Preseason: 20 | Last Week: 15 |

The Dallas Cowboys moved up two spots in the ESPN.com Power Rankings with their 31-16 win over the Washington Commanders.

The last time the Cowboys were this high in the rankings came after their Week 1 win against the New York Giants. This week they get the No. 17 Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in a battle for first place in the NFC East.

Last week, the Cowboys' loss to the Denver Broncos was enough to bump them three spots. Their win against the Commanders moved them up just two spots, but they remain the top-ranked team in the division and remain the seventh-best team in the conference.

The Cowboys’ next five games are against NFC foes, so they will have a chance to creep up possibly into the top 10 with games against the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints and a rematch with the Giants looming.

But first things first: The Cowboys are 0-2 on the road this year and need to get to 3-0 in the division with a victory against the Eagles.

Mike Sando gave the Cowboys their highest ranking at No. 12, and Ashley Fox recorded the lowest at No. 15. Given their up and down ways so far, the Cowboys are ranked correctly.

Seems about right. Once this D gets in sync, I could see us being a Top 10 team.

Just for good measure, our current NFCE foes line up as follows.

Iggles #17
Deadskins #28
Gnats #31

Here's to hoping we play like #13 this weekend. ;)

It's almost as if Cowboys fans think every other team is without weak links.
Great point. It's almost as though the excuses are now becoming unacceptable in the locker room and generally at VR. Like management is finally pushing the fact that every team goes through rough spots. This game is just as mental as it is physical.

Power rankings are fun-but-stupid. We look about right to me in the NFC right now, though I personally think we could handle the Lions and Bears and give GB a run for their money. The Niners are a bit of a mystery this year. SEA and the Saints are the two teams in the NFC that are clearly better than we are right now. And I think the Saints look like SB contenders here, early. I don't see how we outscore them, and I don't see us able to stop their weapons in the passing game. SEA beats us in SEA, hands down. In Dallas, we might have a shot, but not if we can't throw at that secondary. In the AFC, there's the two undefeated teams that already beat us, and there's NE. Everybody else we can give a run for their money, I think. We might not win (see, SD), but we're capable of beating them all on any given Sunday/Monday/Thursday.

I have been contemplating going to the Saints game but I dread the possibility of being nestled within a sea of Saints fans while we're getting throttled..lol

That'd be my concern, too. If we can't pressure Brees, he's going to absolutely throw all over us. They steamrolled us last year, and our coverage isn't any better so far this year. And our pressure is worse. Maybe, without Sproles in the lineup...

Last year's game was about as even as a game can get.
And Dallas already played a better offense than the Saints already this year.

But being AT New Orleans does give their defense a lot of help.

I do. You do realize that every team has weak spots, right?

It's almost as if Cowboys fans think every other team is without weak links.

Your right that's a great place to have a weakness! But once the guys off the streets come together we should be fine..gotcha

Just for the record, I agree. I think the fun factor outweighs the stupidity of it all though. It's fun to speculate on why we are where we are and not higher or lower. Everyone has the prize winning opinion. :D

My prize winning opinion is that someone is delusional because, in my mind, we're no lower than #10. The Lions, Ravens, and Bears should all be below us.
